Jason Puncheon is 5 years older, barely played at the top level, and has nothing in common with Welbeck apart from ethnicity.

He's a natural winger and Welbeck is not.

@ Jaime, it's the same reason why people hate on Milner, Henderson & Cleverly. Not sexy enough.

Puncheon. Now I remember after a quick google search. He was that fella who played for Southampton year before last and left the pitch to take a shit in the middle of the game! Laughing

Bit of a midget too. Doesn't resemble Welbeck at all.

Well we keep hearing that Welbeck isn't a natural winger, but that is the only position his coaches deem him good enough to play in. What they have in common is they are both English, play in the same area's, and are of a similar quality, the difference being one has a Man Utd contract which adds about 10 to his FIFA rating.

I suppose it won't be settled until he moves, but I can't work out what people see in him.

I don't hate Henderson, or Milner so much, Cleverly and Welbeck are getting by on the academy they went to though, it's like politicians that go to Eton.

All I know is that in the CL quarterfinal against Man U two years ago, Welbeck caused all kinds of problems playing in a more central role.

If he is only "good enough" to play on the wing at Man U it's because van Persie of course will get the central role and in that case it's better that he leaves so he can play in his natural position.

Athletic players can cause problems for teams when they are unfamiliar with them, it doesn't necessarily make them good footballers.

Finally someone who gets it - Also their best player vs. Bayern too. ok

There's also Rooney as well. Ferguson opened the door for Rooney to leave last year, but Moyes bottled it and now they have him on £300kpw Rolling Eyes

Welbeck showed what he can do last season playing in a central role when Van Persie was injured - he got 5 in 8 as a striker, his conversion ratio was good overall and despite playing wide the majority of the time he still ended up had a 0.55 goals per 90 mins across the season.

@110% Not like a player could ever improve from season to season. Rolling Eyes

Tall forwards, oft-rubbished in the early parts of their careers.

Posters on here used + the old 606 used to say things like Eduardo was better than Adebayor and that Chelsea should have kept Kezman and sold Drogba instead.

maybe if Chelsea had kept Kezman and sold Drogba instead, they wouldn't be such c**ts.

Didn't you sign Debuchy? Wtf is the point of Manquillo going on loan to sit on the bench when he could just sit on the bench at Atletico. He should go somewhere where he can play.

Debuchy deal is also supposed to be done. Manquillo I'm guessing was done because a) Jenkinson probably agitated for a loan to get more playing time himself, and b) he was available. He'll get opportunities in domestic cup runs. Can he play CB?

He'll suffer death by Pardew, like the rest. Anyway, don't expect too much money out of us, we'll haggle until 31st August over 100k for fear of "doing a Leeds".

     lol!

You are right, just read that NU made an offer for Janmaat 6 million....euros that is eh!! Fucking cheap fucks!

But anyway, I would love if you get yourself a computer generated name! Offer a bit more though!

Good news for Southampton though, they offered 10 million now for Pelle..so that should be done deal.

I wonder if we can field 11 players for our CL qualifier!
