I'd fine and drop any player that tries clever shit in a shootout, it goes wrong 90% of the time. Just try to hoof it into the net man!

Seriously, Zaza?!?! Conte undid a lot of good work with that decision. Even if he's penalty expert (?) he ain't someone with experience in that situation. You could bring on someone like Pirlo last min just to take penalty but not a novice. Called him to miss even before seeing his obvious 'I'm gonna cock this up' facial hair

Loved how deflated Gary Lineker's voice was when he closed out the show saying Germany won

At least the penalty shootout provided some excitement and entertainment in an otherwise tactical game. Can't fault Conte doing the sub because Italy didn't really have many overly technical players on the field. I knew he was going to miss after what happened in the Poland game. There Blaszkowski was kept on the field through extra time to shoot penalties even though he had tired out in the second half and then he was the guy who missed it. A real shame for Italy and maybe things could have been different with De Rossi and Candreva there because their absence thinned out an already thin first XI.

The good news is once people like Muller and Schweini are starting to miss like that in shootouts Germany is no longer unbeatable with it. Italy has a bit of a hit and miss record with it, and they had problems with them. It can change! Look at Argentina, they can only win a shootout against Holland these days and used to have a great record!

So France vs Iceland

I have the feeling this will be the breakout game for France. Reckon 3-0 this time. Or will Iceland suprise me again?

Thats the thing, its all nice these suprises but I'd rather watch Portugal v Belgium and England v France. Cause on days like these it turns into a rout.

It's actually pissed me off, and the pundits pretending Wales are playing well isn't helping. It's been like watching two boxers hug and lean on eachother for 6 rounds, fucking garbage, there weren't even any highlights other than a penalty shout which was apparently a foul but the ref was right not to give it. Thanks Howard. Neutral

Wales will disappear never to be heard of again. I was tired of hearing about how we can learn from the Welsh FA, learn from Chris Coleman, learn from the Welsh players, whatever the f**k. All they've done is beat the overrated Belgians.

They got further than useless England anything we could apply to our mentally weak player set up is better than what England has going for them. 40 plus years of of cowardly chicken professional players not being able to at least come up with what Wales did in these finals is totally unbelievable.

Well done Wales!!!! cheers

Maybe 2014 makes this one feel worse, because the World Cup was so enjoyable? But it's a real letdown this year for sure.

I dont think so, look at 2010 and 2012, it had some memorable matches at least.

Which were the good matches we have seen so far? Of course I didnt watched it all, and there are still two games to go.
