Won the league last season, finished as the top scoring Englishman in the league and one of the top goalscorers. Got to the CL semi final too.

Shrek doesn't impress anyone especially when he only scores against the Wigans and Middlesbroughs.

Except he also scores/assists v Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, Villa, Man City, not to mention AC Milan and Roma in the knockout stages of Europe.

I wont argue about Adebyor and Anelka because this thread isnt clear about support strikers and leading strikers , both Anelka and Adebayor are better suited to be first strikers and target man then Rooney.

Well I'm assuming this is the last of Batman's/Tweedle's top ten lists. As I haven't included RVP in any other list, I thought I would include him in this list. Therefore I have put him in where i think he should be if you just had striker/ss.

Martins I'm unsure of.

Its difficult with Ashot because he's injured for so long.

Berbatov is a worse finisher, has less fight/PGD than ashton, Martins hasn't got the passing/vision of Ashton, Tevez is a horrible finisher and hasn't got the stikers instint of Ashton.

Martins is a better player in my opinion he was very good for Inter and now very good for Newcastle , he got great attributes except for ofcourse height and aerial challenge , good technique , good movement , good finishing , good long shot , things that can be pointed out are perhaps awareness , movement in 6 yad box ,poaching which will probably come with experience.

Berbatov isnt the worst finisher , the goal against you , goals in Bundesliga I have seen him score hes not a wonder finisher but good enough to match Ashton, I havent seen Ashton workrate or fight really ok lets see

Martins doesn't belong in the top 10 at this moment IMO

Martins (comparing to Ashton of course)
Positive points
Movement, Pace , Long shots ,Flair,fitness,touch,movement,technique,creativity ,dribbling

Negative
Aerial Ability , Anticipation ,Awareness.

Neutral (debateable)
Aggression , Determination , passing and others I listed above.

And Liverpool fans will battle for Torres , its up to them.

In terms of danger, he's up there with the best. Yes, he didn't do well against United, but the service to him in that game was virtually none existant, he did very well against Chelsea in the league game and against Arsenal he had to come off injured, every other game, Torres has had moments of danger and has generally been all round excellent, 8 goals in the league and 14 overall in 21 games is pretty impressive, there aren't too many who have had such an impact in their first season in a new league.

Not undermining him Luis just saying that you people can defend him well , I rate him very highly , I did a post about Man Utd tactics and the transformation from 442 to 433 or 4312 and said Torres would be the ideal man to be upfront as he creative and got pace and strength and height.
