Manchester United's tactics are generally route 1. Hargreaves/Carrick hoof the ball out of play, the rest hoof it in Ronaldo's general direction and cross their fingers.

I doubt people watch the Championship enough to know whether the Championship teams listed do.
Palace should start Victor Moses, then they wouldn't have to play route one at all

Do the results of your most recent statistical analysis show that about 75% if teams in the EPL play long ball?

Re: Worst long ball team ?
At home Ipswich do...away from home they don't. If they had some bollocks to play like that away, they'd be top of the league.
Actually EM...the last two games Newcastle have started to pass it around and keep it on the floor now Fat Sam has gone.
You forget West Ham, Manchester City, Portsmouth...Villa play some good stuff at times too.
Bit of a numpty really aren't you?

I actually think they get done away because they try and play whereas they'd be better of getting people behind the ball, hittng teams on the break and trying to grind out victories.

Yes, West Ham...if you actually watched us play (like I do home and away) you'll see long ball is not our game. Man City also play football...Villa score from set pieces yes...you must forget their attacks where they burst forward with Young and Agbonlahor. Portsmouth play some great stuff...Redknapp is one of the best managers for playing football how it should be played. A team with Muntari, Kranjcar, Benjani, Utaka etc isn't one that is there to play Long ball..
Newcastle found it tough breaking Bolton down, but they kept it on the floor and passed it around. Tbh mate, you're showing yourself up a bit.

Re: Worst long ball team ?
Everton are the one that piss me off most TBH - they don't get much stick mainly 'cos Gray works for SKY and he loves Everton.
They have Pienaar, Fernandes, Arteta and, until recently, McFadden so why they are so direct I don't know.
What is worse:
a) playing attacking direct/long ball football.
b) keeping loads of players behind the ball and one up but passing the ball out when you do counter - mainly thinking of City here or Arsenal when they reached CL final.
Attacking/hoofing or negative/passing ?
