Diouf to leave Bolton Empty Diouf to leave Bolton

    Post by Sgoater1 Tue Apr 01, 2008 6:05 pm

Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf says he will leave the club in the summer regardless of their final league position.

Speaking to Senegalese press, Diouf thinks it is time to move on, but he is totally committed to keeping his current club in the Premier League.

"If Bolton stay in the First Division or not, I will not stay next year for sure," Diouf told L'Observateur.

"Teams are interested in me. An agreement between three parties is the only thing missing and I will leave with serenity.

"Whether Bolton remain in the league or not, it is my last year. But it does not prevent me from respecting and admiring Bolton.

"For the moment, four or five clubs are very interested. They come to see me every weekend.

"I do not want to reveal their identity, I prefer to make a surprise of it and leave serenely when the moment has come.

"My priority is to stay in England. But Spanish and Italian clubs are following me.

"For the moment, I am concentrating on trying to do everything to prevent Bolton from being relegated.

"We are trying to get out of the relegation zone as quickly as possible."

I would take a wild guess at Middlesbrough not sure why but they need more players that can be creative. Diouf has always come across as a bit of a wanker

Bolton's side is gash and they've stunk out the Premiership for long enough in my opinion. Fat Sam got fair praise for the job he did, squeezing out the last few drops of talent from seemingly dried out old husks, but their recent signings have been terrible and Diouf is one of the few players that would attract attention in the summer.

He should have moved last summer, based on his performances last season and at 26 he would have commanded a decent fee, to a decent side. At 27 and based on this season's performances he might have missed the boat.

He needs to be a regular and not the best player in the side. If Curbishley wants to continue his 4-5-1 then West Ham might be his best bet.

Celtic were linked to him once. But he also spat in the face of one of their fans, too.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/2891003.stm

"Spitting was the only way I could defend myself."

The Celtic fan shouted something at him and gave him the v sign - and Diouf had to, you know, defend himself. Twat.

He has done pretty well tbh, he seems like a 100% kind of player and from the sound of it a big improvment on Nicky Hunt, but then again my Gran playing instead of Hunt would be an improvement and she's dead.

Diouf was just about the only decent player left. It's going to be tough for us to come back up next season.
