    One step forward then two steps back sums up Ajax this season – didn’t see the game, but reading the Ajax forums it seems it was one of the days when you create plenty and hardly anyone can finish them. Given AZ’s win yesterday this is a very bad result, also Vertonghen got himself sent off, two sending offs in the last two games. Well Ajax seem to want to do it the hard way.

    Yep thanx Groningen Ale

    @LRD
    McClaren has been very smart not too change anything at Twente. He inherited a good team & they hardly had injuries to key players so far.

    @Ricardo
    Congrats. Key win. Glad our rejects (would never have let Derijck go myself) are helping you to make sure my prediction you stay up will be true.

    @Leo

    Derijck (5) and Powel (3)didn't really show up today (just like the rest of the team). Only LORD Zwinkels (8 ) and Buijs (6,5)were sufficient...

    It was an extremely bad game but we won and that's all what counts. I expected more from Volendam in the first half but they just started to play after the 1-0 behind...

    19 points in 19 games is on par for us. Our goal was 34 points this season!

    Yep he is...

    The assistant referee was the biggest reason AZ hold a clean sheet again because Chelsea's star Ben Sahar scored a CRYSTAL CLEAR goal.... The assistant referee said it was off side... Doh

    Buys will probaly do well for you, at Feyenoord the main problem was that he turned into a nutter because of our support.

    Derijck never was perfect as a defender for Feyenoord, but at least he can play some football. That's why I would have rather kept him than Hofland, who can't defend either, but can't play football either. Derijck can contribute something to build up, Hofland or Lucius can't.

    Derijck is very important for us as well... Kum and Horvath are good defenders but in the build up they have to learn a LOT.. So I am very pleased with him...

    Today he couldn't do much well also because the whole team played way under par...

    I agree with you. I also prefer Derijck over Hofland

    Buys should have been off since the ref forgot to give him a second yellow!

    But still not pleased on the Dereick, that guy always had potential at least..compared to Hofland!!

    I also agree. Hofland is dramatic so far. The entire defense of Feyenoord, only Tiendalli is oké as back.

    For an club as Ado Den Haag is Buys a good player, and also Derijck.

    Second yellow for vehemently arguing against the linesman : a deserved booking in my opinion.

    The only trouble is that not all the refs give cards for that kind of thing all the time...

    Yes sometimes these things do go unpunished; it’s actually really disappointing from Vertonghen’s point of view when you’re on a yellow you don’t push the boundaries. Read Van Basten comments after the game, he disagreed with the decision and is still hopeful of catching AZ.
