Time for player v player comparisons

What would be your combined Roma-Arsenal XI, Juve-Chelsea XI and Man Utd- Inter XI?

Aside from Buffon and Del Piero I think I'll struggle to fit ANY Juve players into a combined Juve-Chelsea team.

IMO, the comparison should be Samuel vs Rio, and Vidic vs Cordoba. Tough ones, I went for Samuel-Vidic as the best combo.

VDS vs Cesar is a toss up. Its very hard to pick one over the other...

As a defending defender Samuel, apart from the Real time, is one of the best I have seen. He was a rock for Roma and come around to that form for Inter. Allthough I wouldn't say there is much if anything between them. And don't rate VDS that highly and the truth is that Cesar has been more consistent in recent years.

Actually, I think in the last 18 months he had been even better for Inter than his Roma days. Samuel for me is the best defender on the planet based on recent form...

Well what is very impressive about his Roma time was that he came in straight from South America and lead the defence Ayalar style and won the league in his first season with Roma!

Well for one thing IMO Vidic has been in better form than Samuel, single handily keeping the Manchester United defence together (especially when Ferdinand was out injured).

I like how you've made it a 3 man midfield so that you could include Aquilani without having to leave out Cesc

Cesc isn't going to play though is he?

And anyway, in your lineup in the OP, you played a 4-4-2 with wingers which naturally means you could include more Arsenal players since Roma aren't playing with wingers this season.

4-4-2 is just a standard default formation so I used that for comparison purposes. Nasri can play in the centre anyway, and I'd certainly rate him above Taddei (unlike Messiah).

It is the standard formation for Arsenal, but not for Roma.

If you played a diamond midfield, you'd put 2 Roma midfielders in there at least, and possibly 3 though that depends on how attacking/defensive you want it.

Well the 4-3-2-1 formation is clearly aimed at selecting as many Roma players as humanly possible.

Vucinic being better than Adebayor though? ho hum...
