With the rule changes, it looks like there'll be some big names and tricky opposition in the (apparently seeding-free) qualifying rounds of next season's Champions League...going through the leagues, these are the names that will be in this round as of now:

    Arsenal
    Atletico Madrid
    Milan or Fiorentina
    Celtic
    Lyon
    Stuttgart

Who are the entrants from Portugal, Holland, Romania, Turkey, etc.? I don't know how many spots these leagues are allocated.

Sporting Lisbon as well. Holland i think NAC Breda? in which case not exactly a problem Laughing turkey it's some unknown team. So unless Ukraine and Russia have some good ones then not as bad as possibly could have been for some clubs. Either way a Lyon v Arsenal should be interesting.

Well slightly better if they keep hold of their players then. I hope they get an easy draw anyway.

La Liga should have FIVE teams in next season's CL. Barça the defending champs, then Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Atlético as automatic entries. Then Villarreal into the qualifying rounds.

It's not that hard to work out Rosicky. He thinks the champions should get a separate automatic qualifying spot, similar to what they did in 97-99.

    Panathinaikos will be interesting.

Mantzios and Karagounis were fantastic in the CL and it seems like Ten Cate struggles against the smaller teams (same number of defeats as Olmpiakos but too many draws) but does well in the big games.

    PANA 0-0 Olympiakos

    Olympiakos 0-0 PANA

    Werder 0-3 PANA

    Inter 0-1 PANA

    Villarreal 1-1 PANA

They could be a team for the big guns to avoid.

Likewise, the ten Champions Path winners will meet each other at the same stage. The draw for both play-off paths takes place on 7 August, with the games scheduled for 18/19 and 25/26 August.
