    Currently,

leading European goalscorer - in case you weren't aware - so far this season is none other than Wayne ZEROoney.

Level with Gary Lineker's England record of 10 goals in one international season ,

8 goals in 6 and a half WC qualifiers.

Where is Otto when you need him? Burnt out at 18 according to the German Oracle lol!

Who will end this year as numero uno?

Impressive from Rooney, though the quality of opposition has to be questioned.

Think Dzeko's 7 goals is a more impressive feat as the standard of opposition is better.

And he doesn't have Lamps and Gerrard in midfield.

Surely a hinderance to Rooney rather than help, considering both Lampard and Gerrard themselves are prolific goalscorers. Lampard himself shoots more than he passes.

But definitely Dzeko's performances both in the Bundesliga and at International level are superb. Expect a big money move for him this summer Ale

@ Calidad - Rooney's goal tally includes scoring away at Croatia and Belarus, hardly "easy" opposition. Granted the remaining sides aren't of the highest calibre,

however the major criticism laid upon Rooney prior to this season was he didn't score enough goals at international level.

This season with Capello playing Rooney in his most effective position rather than shunting him on the left like Mclaren often did,

he's banging them in, aswell as creating a number of goals for others.

So much for "peaking" at Euro 2004 <Ale>

He does have Misimovic though who is a fantastic AM, and has just come off the back an insanely productive seasons (in terms of assists)

    Honestly can't remember this.

Rooney is on form. Previously he has blown hot or cold. Only this season has he been more consistent.

The major criticism laid on Rooney is he can't control his temper. Remember his lunge on Aliyev against Ukraine.

Bear in mind also Healy was top scorer when qualifying for euro 2008. With goals against Sweden, Spain and Denmark.
