Dirk Kuyt is relishing the prospect of denting Manchester United's title dream on Sunday - but insists Liverpool's quest for a top-four finish is what matters most.
A fourth consecutive victory over Alex Ferguson's men would be a huge boost for the Reds as they look to secure Champions League football.
But Kuyt knows collecting all three points would also damage United's chances of winning a record 19th league title.
He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's another thing. No one here at Liverpool wants to see them winning another league title but the main thing for us is to win our own games.
"It's a big rivalry. It's my fourth season at the club so I know what it means. I know how it feels when we beat them and hopefully we can do it again on Sunday.
"Winning the last three games against them shows this team can do it. Everyone knows things haven't gone as we wanted over the last couple of months but that's behind us.
"We've had a good week so far and if we get the same result as we did last year in Manchester then it will turn into a fantastic week. If we play like we did against Lille and Portsmouth, I'm sure we have a chance.
"It's a very big game because our aim is the top four. We really need the three points and we have to go for it.
"To finish in the top four you have to concentrate on yourself and win your games, starting on Sunday. If we carry on playing like this we have a chance to win every game."
Liverpool go into the contest on the back of successive wins after goals from Fernando Torres (2) and Steven Gerrard secured a place in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday.
Kuyt added: "Everyone knows Fernando and Stevie are world class. We've got a good team but with those two we know they can decide every game for us.
"The form Fernando is in now is great for the team and hopefully he can do the same again on Sunday.
"The reaction of the team has been good this week and we'll try to win every game between now and the end of the season."
When asked of his thoughts on United's Manager, Alex Ferguson, the Ducthman grinned, "He is a whisky nose, in Holland we say he is a twat".
