Some good looking fixtures in there.

Probably the least I've ever looked forward to a derby, what a horrible fixture to have at the end of a ridiculous week. I'll take a point please.

This must be one of the lowest-positioned Mersey Derbies in the league for a very long time. 17th vs 18th - that's usually the realm of your Black Country Derby (Wolves-Brom)

Drogba out of the Villa game with flu. Alex is injured and Lampard is still short of fitness.

Pulis's response to Murphy's comments lol!

    Always love the prepared responses.

Seriously though, what the fuck was Murphy on about? Seems a bit clueless and is being controversial for the sake of it.

So you think systematic fouling doesn't exist, and you think managers don't tell their players to "get stuck in"? We see it every weekend from some teams, and i thought he singled out those teams pretty well.

He didn't say that, he said they get them too worked up and feign surprise when it's obvious what the consequences of that can be.

Someone needs to come up with a word for "tabloid-esque overexaggerated deliberate misunderstanding of a quote".

Blackpool away i dont think it will be easy, they have done pretty well this season and its their first big home game so the atmosphere will be decent...but we have got to look to win this if we are going to be up there. Come on City lets do it for Mal !

Yeah same thing. A lot of clubs have players like this. Gerrard's never done a tackle that could break someone's bone though, he's hit people in the head that deserve it.

Horseshit. Gerrard used to do two footed over the ball lunges in every game. He has toned it down a bit, though he dives more now. He's definitely done the sort of tackle that runs the risk of injuring people. By comparison, Scholes tends to just be snide, do professional fouls to stop counterattacks, make sure he leaves a foot in against the opposition's playmaker, that sort of thing.

It is dumb though. When an England international does a dangerous tackle, it's called commitment. When an unfashionable player at a small club does a dangerous tackle, it's a reason to look at the rules again.

where's Owen Hargreaves? Why announce his return if he isn't even going to make the bench?
Rooney's ankle injury seems to have returned, no Owen at all. Ferdinand starts.
