Wembley will host the 2013 Champions League final

UEFA has confirmed Wembley will host the 2013 Champions League final.

Wembley played host to the final between Manchester United and Barcelona in May this year, but UEFA president Michel Platini has said the stadium will be used once more to mark the 150th anniversary of the Football Association.

''We loved the amount of money we made from charging extortionate ticket prices''.

Ok the last line may or may not have been in the statement Maybe it's to keep them quiet over the scandals lately?

Quiote blatantly one reason only for this: money. UEFA made a shitload last time (unsurprising given the cheapest tickets were about 200 quid), and now they're back.

Happy to criticise English football for it's wads of cash, not so bothered then milking it for all it's worth.

Don't think that UEFA ever had a problem with the ridiculous ticket prices in England, quite on the contrary actually. The problem is owners 'bailing out' their clubs on a constant basis, clubs spending a lot more than they earn so it becomes very unhealthy. The high revenues from ticket sales actually lessen the financial troubles. If the English fans are willing to pay them, let them, what should UEFA care?

It's a little hypocritical of UEFA though innit? They're (Platini in particular) is moaning about wanting football to be more spread across Europe, not just the "big leagues", more interest / compatition from the smaller countries / nations. In particular, the dcominance of the Premier League in number of competing teams, the money etc.

Yet here they are, coming back to England 3 years after having just been there. Why aren't they off spreading the good word of UEFA, giving those other countries the opportunity to host the final? Because they made a killing at Wembley this year. They clearly couldn't give a shit about the very principles they are so quick to stand behind when criticising English football.

Whose ever heard of going back to the same venue 3 years later?

I can't believe I'm arguing having the CL final in England, but surely you don't agree with it being at the same venue so soon after the last time? Germany has loads of awesome stadia. Why can't you Krauts host it? You should be APPALLED.
