Apparently Lamela has been found. He has been in Argentina since April training like a boss. Should be fit as a fiddle for opening day.

There is just no way the players we signed last year can play worse than they did. Should be a far better season with that extra year now under their belts.

Looking forward to the opportunity to exact some revenge. West Ham, Arsenal and Liverpool in particular.

Apparently Lloris said that last season in most games we were the better team technically but "vastly inferior" in a tactical sense. Indeed, he said that from his position in goal it was like watching a chess match in which the pieces did not know how to move.

    Sherwood for England.

Half the season was AVB too though in fairness.

Lets hope the Gaucho can improve matters. Some unnecessary egos at Spurs it seems, as long as they listen and do what they are told like the players did at Southampton, shirley we will see a vastly better side this year.

Spurs on US tour, first game of the pre season kick off in half an hour.
There should be streams out there, as it's on one of the ESPN channels and also is streamed for members at Spurs TV.

Seattle team: Frei, Yedlin, Marshall, Scott, Anibaba, Neagle, Alonso, Pineda, Pappa, Martins, Dempsey.

#THFC team - Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Fryers, Rose, Carroll, Holtby, Capoue, Townsend, Kane, Lennon.

#THFC subs: McGee, Fredericks, Kaboul, Veljkovic, Walker, Ceballos, Eriksen, Falque, Lamela, Mason, Soldado.

Gylfi Sigurdsson a late withdraw from the starting line up, most expect it to be due to a transfer back to Swansea. Three way deal with Ben Davies and Michel Vorm coming to Spurs. Davies having his medical over in Seattle tonight

Pssst. So Ive heard via my NY-Miami connections that Huw Jenkins and Daniel Levy have agreed on a deal that will see us sign Ben Davies (also wanted by Liverpool and Atletico Madrid) AND Michel Vorm for 5million plus Gylfi Siggurdson. This info is redhot mes amis.

If so, then that represents some good business for us, overloaded in midfield, gets us a highly rated young left back and excellent second keeper, move Friedel into a permanent coaching role.

Other rivulets of whitehot whispers down the grapevine also suggest Morgan Schneiderlin (who followed Spurs on twitter for about an hour before Saints fans went all Jackie Chan over it so took his PR teams advice to swiftly unfollow) has chosen Spurs over Arsenal because of his relationship with Poch. Wenger was keen as mustard given he represents a younger cheaper option to Sami 'gimme 200k a week to fackin run abaat innit' Khedira. Expect some movement on that front soon eitherway.

The final piece of gossip is that with Liverpool agreeing to sign Remy, Spurs are in the pole position for Bony. Whether Swansea will have had enough of Jewboy levy by then remains to be seen. Could be that negotiations with us over Davies has created a decent relationship with the Welshes. Eitherway, Im rating this on the Otto scale of predictions as a 7. Youll have to wait to hear what thats out of.

Oh, and some Dutch fuckers claim we are in talks with Penis V for that computer generated player from the World Cup, Memphis Depay. Rating that about as hot as an Angela Merkel striptease. Never trust a Dutchman.

First transfer signings done, Michel Vorm and Ben Davies confirmed by the official site. With Sigurdsson going the other direction, confirmed by Swansea website. Undisclosed fee, believed to be 10 each for Davies and Sigurdsson and up to 5 for Vorm. Ben Davies played allready tonight in the friendly against Toronto. Really happy with these signings, makes our squad more balanced without spending much money to talk about.

    http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/deal-for-swansea-duo-agreed-230714/

    Other transfers so far:
Grant Hall (Birmingham), Alex Pritchard (Brentford) and Grant Ward (Chicago Fire) are all loaned out.
Tom Glover (Sutherland Sharks), Ismail Azzaoui (Anderlecht) and Musa Yahaya (Mutunchi Academy) are all youth players signed from abroad.
While Heurelho Gomes (Watford), Lawrence Vigouroux (Liverpool), Kevin Stewart (Liverpool), Laste Dombaxe, Darren McQueen (Ipswich), Cameron Lancaster are the more prominent released players.
Jake Livermore sold to Hull City for around £6.5m

    Lamelllllla.

Could already see the develooment of Pochs style during that game. Intense pressing off the ball, fast vertical forward moving one touch on it. Requires very fit players to keep it up for 90minutes, thats where it ll be interesting who doesnt make the cut. Dawson looks almost certainly gone given how he is totally the wrong type of player for his system. More will surely follow.

Really think Holtby could finally have his breakthrough season. Poch seems to like him, has the tenacious and technical attributes the Argentine expects from his players. He has looked sharp and in great physical shape pre season. Extremely likeable kid, seems to really care about Spurs (would come back to sit in the stands and watch us when he was on loan at Fulham), hoping to be proven right

Agree, think Pochettino's football fit Holtby well.
Just as it did at Mainz under Tuchel where Holtby played some of his best.
Holtby has a lot of energy and is brilliant at the pressing game, Poch will love him.

    Further transfer dealings:
Iago Falque joined Genoa on a permanent deal
Kenneth McEvoy will spend the season on loan at Peterborough

Mateo Musacchio and Morgan Schneiderlin are the strongest linked players at the moment.

Issue with Holtby is nobody seems sure what his best position is. Not creative enough to be a number 10 (not with Eriksen around), not really pacey enough to be a wide player. Best position probably for him is to operate as a number 8 alongside a DM. His tackling isnt great though, so will be interesting to see where Poch thinks his best position is. Same can be said of Dembele too.

If we sign Musacchio it will be curtains for Dawson. Torn about the prospect of letting him go: no question he is just not good enough to play a modern pressing high line game. However conversely he has been the heart and soul of the club off the pitch. Perhaps he is too nice though, and what we need is a club captain who is a big c**t, a Terry like player. No doubt we ve been soft as shite mentally for too many years now.

Also think if we sign Schneiderlin one of Capoue (who has been first choice in pre season and looked very sharp), Sandro (most likely) or Dembele will leave. We always balance the books. Would be sad to see Sandro go, but he is clearly injury prone and just doesnt play regularly enough to justify keeping him.
