Spanish League Fantasy Football

Some posters have expressed an interest in a fantasy football game for the Spanish Primera Division. Unfortunately, no formal game exists (e.g. Fantasy Premier) except for the Liga Fantastica sponsored by Marca, however it is only open to socios of Marca. La Saeta Rubia and I have been tossing around the idea of creating our own fantasy game, based in large part on the other fantasy games already in existence, for La Liga. It would require a little bit of work to get it up and running but I'm happy to do it if there is interest. Obviously for only two or three it is not worth the time. So let me know by posting here or by PM if you are interested and if there is a decent sized group, we will begin working out the details.

Ask Forza italia Forza Milan he made a WC fantasy footie, although you would have to sort out ratings.

I don't mind helping. If three/four of volunteer to rate each player, could we work out an average? Or would it be best if Jaime sorted them out on his own?

I think it would be alot of work for one person, i think we could all come to an agreement on the prices.

Think an average would be the best way. What is the maximum and minimum prices?

Aren't the details of the MARCA league in their paper? We could just copy that?

I was thinking about that but MARCA doesnt start the fantasy football league till well into the league.

I just found the full list of players and prices but its last seasons. So all the new players wont be on it and neither the prices of them obviously.

Spain have it to, but you have to be a member of Marca otherwise you cant do it.

Just been having a think and the only real problems are....

1) Sorting out the prices.

2) The rules in terms of how many players are you limited to from each team or is there no limit? Transfer ? i guess there will have to be a limit for the season and per month ??

3)What formations can you choose from?

4) How are points scored? and what counts as an assist - or is it a key contribution as some have it...that has to be clear or people will argue if they think their player should have points but they arnt awarded them.

No, they are all good thoughts. The prices will be the biggest task but hopefully there will be a couple of people who can help with that so that there is consensus. As far as the rules, my idea was to basically take the rules from the EPL Fantasy game and apply them to our league. That way it is all spelled out. No sense in reinventing the wheel....

I believe the biggest task may be to update the scores on a weekly basis and to determine how many points will be actually awarded to each player.

The original price issue is not too bad IMO.
