If anyone does think Sheva is worth £30million and Rooney £27million, then £24mill for the Drog is a bargain imo.

Yeah its funny how chelsea suddenly care about paying over the odds just cos its Arsenal. I think if Chelsea offered £20m Arsenal should just cut their losses and get rid.

That's the point isn't it - Man City were never going to turn that 21 million into a title challenge. Marseille are French, Milan might turn that 30 million into dumping Chelsea out of the CL but the chances are that they won't play each other for a year or two. Arsenal, particularly if they got a juicy sum for Reyes, could turn 20mill+ for Cole and 15-20 for Reyes into a great strengthening of their team if they invested it properly. Right now, I don't see Arsenal putting up a sustained challenge for the league title but I may be proven wrong.

That's probably true. Arsenal looked much more impressive in their CL game than Liverpool and with maybe four more £10m players would improve the strength in depth of their squad significantly.
