    Crouch is a ok

    look at his record, dickmunch.

Can't see much wrong with that side with the exception of Pip Neville. Not a single left-footer in the side. Should have played Barry and perhaps Downing.

Yeah, I want to see Lennon, but as I say..apparently he's ill. Guessing Rooney wasnt fit enough to start either.

Spain should have played Vicente and maybe even Joaquin. Both wingers would have given those FB's a torrid time. G Neville is decent, but he struggles againt pacey/skillful wingers imo. I imagine Ronaldo skins him alive in training sessions.

Good to see the most in-form midfielder in the squad is keeping his place.

Time for him (and Gerrard) to put in another woeful performance though.

not too bad. but why phil neville over barry? barry's played lb almost as much as he's played midfield this season and i'm certain he a better lb than neville.

i just imagine barry getting a half hr run out in 2nd half, making one bad pass or something and, having no time to make up for it, getting dismissed as 'not international class' forever more.

It's about time he had a good game for England. He's found his very best form again imo (although of course, people will only ever criticise him).

    Terry too.

Although this is by the 100,000,000 fans as oppose to the management, who get to see him on a much more regular basis.

I'm pretty sure if this was a competitive fixture that McLaren would have raided the U21's for a couple of strikers and a let back. Hopefully his thinking is not to unsettle the U21 players who wouldn't get a look in on a fully fit squad. Lita, Nugent and co are a long way down the list after Crouch, Rooney, Owen, Defoe, Johnson, and Bent afterall. The left back position is between Cole and Bridge so I suppose he sees Barry as a midfileder, otherwise he would have surely started ahead of Neville.

No left footers does concern me, but no point in picking someone for the sake of it.
