Under Siege - list your players

So, Summer is coming, and we usually talk a lot about our transfer targets. But what about your own players who are targeted by others... and you are in risk of seeing them leaving at the end of the season?

I am not talking about the ones you want to get rid of and don't even know why. I'm talking the ones you feel a bigger or richer club can take... or by an agent, or because the player feels he can be happier (or richer) somewhere else.

I'll list mine:

SPORTING:

Nani (specially by EPL teams - Man Utd, Spurs)
Miguel Garcia (by Reggina, on a free transfer - end of contract)
Tello (Valladolid, on a free transfer - end of contract)
Miguel Veloso (many clubs just observing, but Atlético Madrid wanting him now)
Carlos Martins (specially from Russia, knowing he fallen in disgrace, wanting a talented player for a couple of rublos)
Tonel (Deportivo wanting him to replace Andrade)

Moutinho hadn't been targeted by someone particullary. Everyone watching, but no one yet ready or preparing to buy him.

Arsenal

Gilberto- apparently Inter and Juventus want him, if they're serious I doubt that we could keep him.

Cesc - Real Madrid may still believe he's the answer to all their problems, and Inter are now interested. Same as Gilberto, If the clubs are serious I doubt we'll keep him, although he's more likely to stay than Gilberto in this situation.

Luis Suarez (he's simply too good for us)
Bruno Silva (if he doesn't get picked up by a bigger club the scouts will have been asleep for yet another year)

Ajax

Huntelaar and Sneijder ..

juan pablo angel, lee hendrie, jlloyd samuel, patrik berger have all been linked with moves away. it's worrying times for villa fans

in all seriousness, i can't see anyone moving for our good players, because the only teams that would are teams at similar level...we don't really have any up-and-coming stars that the top 4 will be coveting.

Alonso - Real? He seems like a fairly down-to-earth guy and he knows that Rafa will build the team around him. Worry factor - 2/10

Sissoko - Barca? Would he fit in to such a flair-obsesed team? We're allegedly making him a better wage offer to keep him - this season his injury has shown how vital he is to us. Worry factor 4/10

Gerrard - The eternal Chelsea rumour? Seems to have gone quiet now. I really think that he's decided he'll see his career out with us. Worry factor 2/10

Other than that - I'm not aware of any particular interest. Agger is the only other one who might attract attention.

There's always loads of rumours about our players, most probably originating from the media. Arsenal after Zog and Given, Chelsea after Tayls - Nothing will come of these.

Then you've got the rumours about players that probably will be leaving:-
Bramble - Ipswich, Birmingham, Fulham
Luque - Every mid-table club in Spain and the top Dutch clubs
Emre - Galatasary
Duff - Spurs(probably won't be leaving unfortunately)
Carr - Celtic

Just be the C.Ronaldo rumours this summer.

Might be some talk about the likes of Heinze, Brown, Silvestre, Fletcher, Richardson and Smith.

Not overly fussed if Silvestre, Richardson and Smith leave though.

Schwarzer - Read Bayern Munich might want him..hopefull he wont be going anywhere.

Rochemback - Always linked with a move back to Sporting..will hopefully happen.

Mendieta - Was linked with a couple of Spanish clubs, probably will be again.

Woodgate - Newcastle are probably interested, Madrid could still keep him..they'll be others in for him aswell.

Viduka - Contract up, might want to see if he can go somewhere for European football one last time. Would like him to stay.

Downing - Spurs...because they're obsessed with him.

Could be. But I still reckon that Alonso is the first name on Rafa's teamsheet and he knows that.

Lot's of teams interested in our backup goalkeeper Diego Lopez among them Zaragoza, Deportivo, and Villarreal.

I can't imagine anybody wanting any of our other players at the moment...except for Raul Bravo of course.

Yep, and we dont really have a good replacement ready. I dont rate Brad Jones...and and Ross Turnbull has barely played yet(has looked good though).

Nothing in the German press about that cooper AFAIK, relax. Don't think Bayern will buy a keeper, they have a talented youngster Rensing who is going to replace Kahn in a few years as their number 1.

funny, after the Barca game he was one of our best players, he then has a bad game against United (the sun was in his eye which has still not fully recovered) and suddenly he's just average again, sure his passing isn't great but he can work on that, in terms of tackling and strength he's unbelievable.

Alonso, best passer in Europe probably, hasn't had a great season and besides his passing he isn't that special, he's too slow and his movement isn't great.

Could we cope without Alonso? yes, could we cope without Sissoko? yes, would Alonso raise around 15-20 million? yes, would Momo? no.

Tevez-Palermo and Juventus are known to be suitors...Probably loads of other clubs. Magnusson said he'll try and buy him outright in the summer but who knows...Doubtful UNLESS we stay up...

Ashton-Newcastle. He won't be going there...Unlikely to be going anywhere given the cirucmstances...

Benayoun-T*ttenham and Portsmouth. Hopefully he'll be kept as he only said two weeks ago how much he wants to stay.

The reason for me Sissoko was so good against Barca and so poor against us is because against Barca they had most of the ball and Sissoko was superb at closing them down and forcing them back, against ourselves you had most of the ball and Sissoko wasn't capable of doing anything with it.

Players like Sissoko are not hard to replace (Mascherano could do a better job imo). Players like Alonso are a nightmare to replace.
