    Man Utd vs. Sheffield Utd
Premiership Tuesday 17 April Match Thread _42800875_manu_shfu

Rio Ferdinand may feature for Manchester United after initial examinations showed his groin injury is not a long-term problem.

But a Saturday return for him and John O'Shea (calf) are more likely, so Darren Fletcher may be at right-back, while Craig Cathcart, 18, eyes a debut.

Sheffield United centre-back Claude Davis is almost certainly out with an ankle injury sustained at the weekend.

Striker Jon Stead also has a knock and may not figure.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Fletcher, Cathcart, Ferdinand, Brown, Heinze, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Smith, Solskjaer, Dong.

Sheffield United (from): Kenny, Bromby, Davis, Morgan, Jagielka, Shelton, Stead, Hulse, Webber, A Quinn, Kozluk, Kilgallon, Montgomery, Tonge, Gillespie, Armstrong, Leigertwood, Lucketti, Fathi, Geary, Nade, S Quinn, Kazim-Richards, Bennett.

    Arsenal vs. Man City
Premiership Tuesday 17 April Match Thread _42800863_ars_mnc_0506

Arsenal's Abou Diaby and Julio Baptista are both pressing for a recall.

But Thierry Henry (groin and stomach), Freddie Ljungberg (hamstring), Theo Walcott (shoulder) and Robin van Persie (broken foot) are all sidelined.

Manchester City striker Emile Mpenza is a doubt with the hip injury which forced him to be substituted in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool.

Belgian Mpenza has given City a lift since his arrival and will be given as much time as possible to recover.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arsenal (from): Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Gilberto, Rosicky, Ljungberg, Adebayor, Almunia, Diaby, Baptista, Senderos, Aliadiere, Denilson, Djourou.

Man City (from): Isaksson, Weaver, Onuoha, Trabelsi, Sun, Dunne, Distin, Ball, Jordan, Sinclair, Ireland, Barton, Hamann, Johnson, Dabo, Beasley, Vassell, Mpenza, Corradi, Samaras.

I'm guessing we'll play the same team that ended the Watford game, with Fletcher at right back.

Neville is not back till the weekend, probably the same as Ferdinand and still no news on Saha or Park.

Man Utd do have a lot of injuries for this game. It will be a test of their strength and desire tonight, I think they will still come through it. With the front four looking like they can terrorise any defence in the world, Paddy Kenny should be for a busy night.

I hope Wenger sticks to the same XI that beat Bolton at the weekend. With the exception of bringing in Diaby for the injured Ljungberg.

Bit silly United playing Rio if they're not sure about him. They'll beat Sheff Utd with O'Shea and Heinze as CBs. The CBs are likely to be clattered by Hulse a couple of times whilst competing in the air, so it'd make more sense to rest him imo.

Hopefully he's fit enough to play right back, then we can use Fletcher in midfield and maybe rest one of Giggs, Scholes or Carrick.

Charlton...because its Sheff Utd we have to catch. Catching Charlton will do us nothing better than put us in 18th...

Diaby has had to go off with a head injury but otherwise we seem to be on top in this game. Fabregas had a beamer of a shot from 30 yards. He obviously wants more goals he should be gettin them anyway.
