At the moment, I care much more about domestic success. I've given up with the piss poor way our national team is run by the FA and management. It's like they don't give a damn about England's success in competitions, and would much rather take a safe and uncharismatic route.

Club or country?
This has probably done many times before, I dont care. Which is more important, club or country. Which do you care more about, domestic or international success?

Club? Aren't Barca fans bored by the success? The more you win, the less it means. Surely you'd prefer Spain to win the European championships than for Barca to win another league title?Oleguerisntthatbad wrote:guess!!!

So you would prefer England to have won the World Cup last year and Liverpool not bother with the Champions League?

If someone guarenteed West Ham's premiership status now, but it meant England and Italy both failed to qualify for the Euro 2008. I'd accept without hesitation

You have to put it into context I guess. I would rather Liverpool won the final in Istanbul than England winning the world cup in Germany, but I'd rather England won the world cup that Liverpool won it for a second time this year.
Let me change the question a bit....
Your team wins it's first domestic league title in ten years, or your country wins the world cup???

Re: Club or country?
Country,
After Euro2000 and the pain at Korea2002 and Euro2004, winning this world cup after all the domestic problems felt unbelievable.
Thta semi-final against Germany was one of the most amazing moments of my life, Grosso's goal was an amazing orgasm of relief and joy.
The final was a bit of an anti-climax in excitement sense, but winning that World Cup, and Cannavaro lifting it in front of the World, and everything that happened in those six weeks was an unbelievable emotion, i was so proud to be Italian, so proud to be of the same nation as warriors like Gattuso and Materazzi, of an artist like Pirlo, of a brain and sense of place like Cannavaro, a true leader of men.
Having said that, beating Juventus in 2003 felt pretty good, and i'm sure after the pain, tears and depression of Istanbul, if we beat Liverpool in three weeks, that too will be up there with sex!

Would you rather England won the world cup using the system they use now The most dire and unconvincing football imaginable, or Arsenal won the league next year?
In that sense, it's fair. England play unattractive stuff, and if they won the world cup this way I'd be more embarrassed than proud.

Well, when I had 10 yo it was special, but when I was 14 I didn't give a sh!t when Brazil lost to France. Watching my fav club lifting a trophy or winning the derby gets better and better.

if i had to chose between Real or denmark/italy then it would be denmark/italy. allthough by natural country (eritrea) reaching the Wc i would give up another 4 years of nothing for Real.

I'd exchange our 5 WC titles for a single Libertadores.

I'd too. In fact I'd exchange a 10-0 defeat against Argentina for another 4-0 victory against Cruzeiro. I also would exchange a WC final goal for another goal like the second and fourth goals. The national team never made me feel proud and happy like that. At the end of the day it was a state championship final, imagine if it was the Copa Libertadores...

Re: Club or country?
im must say im surprised about the level of people choosing clubs. i think only 4 or so would choose country. i have heard that england were an extremme case of club over country but so many times i have heard it from english. always thought england were a patriotic country. if eritrea won the world cup i would give up the galactico years.
