Adam Hammill

Liverpool winger has joined Saints on loan, following the footsteps of fellow midfielders Darren Potter and Danny Guthrie as a Liverpool reserve to join us on a loan.

Anyone know what he's like? all i know is that he's played for England at U-19 level and has attracted the interest of a few decent clubs including Celtic

Isnt Potter at Wolves and Guthrie gone on loan to Bolton by the way.

Hamill is quality! He's one of our most promising youth team players, and scored a fantastic goal against Celtic last season.

Yeah they've both left now, but they've joined us on loan in previous seasons

Absolutely ideal, could well end up being the creative, attacking midfielder that Saints were crying out for last season.

Yeah Guthrie did well for us last season, a gritty midfield battler with bags of energy and a very good passer of the ball, the only thing he lacked i suppose was goalscoring and whilst he was on loan with us for only 10 games or so i guess you could argue he should have got on the scoresheet at least once. He added bite to the midfield but was more in a sort of Roy Keane mode than a Riquelme-type one. What we really needed was an attacking midfielder who can find that killer pass to crack a defence as well as chip in with 8-10 goals a season
