Man U have a top team--

I think they will win the title again this yr

they have the best young players, and with rossi up front (who is a star of the future) hard not to put your money on them

Just hope Rossi is given a chance to play some games this season.

saha is average and that othere dude is going

so after he scored like 10 goals in half a season for parma, the only logical thing to do is play rossi up front with rooney

Rossi is going to be a top striker, and with players like nani and ronaldo, feeding him, they should make a top strike force

you are either a top striker (crespo) average (saha) or poor (adriano in current form)

Please if thats your opnion but when Saha is fit he is a very very dangerous and excellent player.

sure, he can be dangerous, but he has never ripped it up game after game

he is inconsistant and does not score enought to be catagorised as a top striker

He is injury prone for god sake , have you seen his season with Fulham.

NIce rewriting of history. Fergie kicked Ruud out of the team. He was routinely brought on as well to score as a sub in 10-15 minutes, whenever Saha couldn't cut the mustard.

Saha is not average though, he's good striker - a subtopper. Just not a top striker... or reliable.

Talent wise the team is superior to 1999 easily. It's missing the chemistry/team bond but apart from that....

I think it's more down to the fact that you miss Keane's presence. With him in the team, nobody ever gave anything less than 100% (which sadly for you cannot be said about every single player in your team today imo).

However highly you may rate Van Der Sar, he isn't in the same league as Schmeichel either. Schmeichel had that presence of invincibility about him that I believe only Petr Cech has had since him.

I think the 1999 team had more character and leadership. This squad has better players abilty wise, but we dont have any players who grab a game by the scruff of the neck when things arent going our way. A player that ignites the rest of the team and instils belif in everyone.

Even Rooney and Ronaldo who are clearly very talented players do not possess this ability against the big clubs like Keane did against Juventus in 99. Imo, that's the best individual performance I've ever since considering what was at stake and who the opposition were. Even the likes of Scholes and Giggs who were key players in the 99 side never really had that kind of leadership that Keane, Schmeichel and to a lesser degree Beckham had.

They have the abilty, but they are still to young to be that player. I dont think Ronaldo will ever be that player, but I think Rooney has the mentality to maybe become that player. This season (06/07) in the Milan game at home, Ronaldo and Rooney got the plaudits. But it was Scholes and Giggs who stepped up and rescued the team from defeat.

However I dont see any real leaders in the team and I think thats what will hold us back in the biggest games.

That Keane performance was beyond phenomenal, especially when you consider he knew he was going to miss the final. What I would give for a 25 year old Roy Keane.

Well certainly players like Saha don't give the impression they always want to give 100%. It's not a dig at your club, but in 1999 everyone gave 100% every match, or they were out.

Well ok but i dont agree at all, i think his personality is quiet and laid back and sometimes hes like that on the pitch also but he isnt trying any less than anyone else. Don't think he gets injured on purpose hes just made of glass, last season towards the end he said he wasnt fit ferguson said he was, he played 20 minutes and got injured again so maybe he was right.
For me Saha is an easy target for alot of people including man utd fans.
