By saying "move over Pato", you surely meant that Coutinho to play alongside Pato a.k.a being The Duck wing-man

Coutinho is good, actually moves in a very similar manner to Pato, he only lacks Pato's finishing skills!! The guy has scored in ALL of his debut matches for club and country!!! INSANE!

He looked fucking good against us on Wednesday. HOWEVER, Sandra Redknapp would have looked good against us on Wednesday, so bad was our defending off the ball.

Still, definitely another Brazilian talent right there. If only Germany produced the kinds of talents that Brazil do, Deisler and Otto would both expunge a spectacular torrent of frothy man gravy, raining down from the skies and blotting out the sun

Relative to his talent, maybe. But Ozil has got by far the better football brain IMO.

With Muller, u talk of a supreme footballing brain coz he makes the right runs, drops back when he should, fills in somewhere if there's space to be filled etc These are basically all aspects of the game which most players fully grasp in their 30s(mostly when they no longer have the stamina or legs to play at the highest level), so it's remarkable someone of his age already understands the game so well. I've been laughed at a few times for saying this, but Muller reminds me of Nedved, he's basically a more forward version of the Czech IMO.

Ozil's football brain is on another level, it's bordering on genius, he just sees and knows so much. Few players have the capacity to think that highly. Unlike Muller's type footballing brain, no amount of experience could help u think on a similar level.

Ozil is easily the more talented player IMO, doesn't mean he'll have the better carrier though. Muller is the type that could consistently play at the highest level even deep into his 30s, whilst Ozil could struggle to have more than 2 seasons in which he was consistent throughout.

I love both players, they are the reason I have a mini crush on the German national team, there's something about Muller that I like that I can't explain(nothing to do with his footballing ability), I used to have something similar with Martin keown.

The Right Honourable Deluded Fuck is spot on - Muller has a fabulous footballing brain.

BUT - and there is a but - as an example: only the surrepticiously anti English would argue that at 18, Rooney also displayed an exceptional visionary intelligence on the field.

Just as in life, it's important to see how the young - free of the burdens of pressure and expectation that comes with age - will handle that inevitable first dip in form and issues such as injuries that become more problematic the older one gets.

Right now, he's probably the most intelligent young player in the World right now, if not the most naturally gifted.

Will be interesting to see how he matures. I see in him shades of Teddy Sheringham (if we're talking about players I've seen in the flesh) - not blessed with immense pace (although probably more than Teddy to be fair) or eye catching flair, but with an innate unselfishness and healthy dollop of vision and craft that stands out when surrounded by arguably more naturally talented individuals who forget it's a team game.

You might be right on the first part but I disagree on the second. I think Prof cleared up the differences between Muller and Ozil quite well too. I prefer Ozil since im more impressed with genius.

Ozil is a much more gifted player than Muller (I was kinda joking with the pointy arrows), but you spoke about Muller only in terms of his off the ball work - the simplicity of his decision making is brilliant! He makes the right pass, the right run, he never ever complicates a attacking situation just to make it look more flashy, he just does the damn job, and makes the game look easy. It is more comman to have an extraordinarily gifted player who makes it look impossible to the average person (i.e Ronaldinho).

Thomas Muller is one of those guys that makes me believe that I could play like him and make it at a decent standard, and in a good way. I could never get the same feeling with Ozil, all you can do is sit back and admire his talent, his genius from afar, knowing that he is that much more superior than you at football.

Great comparison with Nedved btw. Ale

My list would be like this:

    Ibrahimovic
    C.Ronaldo
    Ozil
    Fabregas
    Nasri
    Drogba
    Messi
    Bale
    Iniesta
As for the tenth one I have no idea!
