What's the similarity between MLS and EPL, Pele confuses me there?

Pelé may be referring to the fact that the American game has its roots in the English philosophy of the sport. There are lots of English coaches who have worked for many years specifically at youth level here in the USA. People in charge of US Soccer have recently looked towards México and South America as the next step. It is believed that the English philosophy has reached its course. All the English ex-pats helped in the development of soccer in this country.

Teófilo Cubillas and one ex-Mexican star (forget his name) have been put in charge to oversee "soccer" youth programs, AND to inject Latin style football into the makeup of future American teams. US Soccer have determined that this is the way to go.

I think that's what Pelé was referring to when comparing the American and English football. The guy saw all them coaches during his playing days in the defunct NASL.

Yallop was doing a good job. He is one English coach who was doing a very good job in the MLS. I would've given Yallop more time, but I know business is business and it's even much more business with Beckham. Biggrin <Ale>

Gullit will bring his sexy football to the Yanks now. At least Estelle can live on Rodeo Drive now. Laughing
