Puro do you understand ENGLAND mate ?

Hi my friend,hope you're fine!

We both share the same view in general about "you know who" and we are both considered as "anti this" or "anti that" but let's be honest ! WE LOVE ENGLAND..Just we don't understand them and we critic them a bit

Well i said "we don't understand them" but maybe i'm in the wrong! Could you explain to me mate this thing.

As usual i was reading some articles in their great medias.Was laughing a bit seeing Crouch was full of praises for the new english hero "Benayoun" and said he has no doubt he could become a legend in England if he can beat the croatians ect ect..Then i was reading the McLaren interview in BBC sports and that's the moment i understood nothing!

We know it's a huge website.And i remember well one of their main "pundits" claiming Israel was a "poor team" after the first game in Israel

Today McLaren and co changed their mind! "We have got to hope that Israel, a proud nation with a great home record, get a result against Russia."

last week a pundit said about McLaren trip in America for Bechkam "ormer England captain Terry Butcher believes Steve McClaren's Los Angeles visit to see David Beckham in a charity game was a "farcical" waste of time. "

And today in the same interview McLAren is saying And McClaren said: "I went out to Los Angeles because it was important to check him out and do my job. He is fit and he is in the squad.

"David is a very important player to us. He proved his importance when he came back into the squad in the summer. His performances warranted inclusion."

As usual very difficult to understand! at the beggining of his reign the main thing he has done was to NOT pick Bechkam in the team! for McLAren he was too old and England needed fresh blood!Now he watch Bechkam in the other side of the globe! What the hell it means Puro mate ???

My questions are..How can they disrespect so much a team like Israel and then claiming they'rea great team ?

And Do you think it's serious when a coach claims he is gonna build a team with young players for improving the team and when this same coach some months later has bad results and has to call back old players like Bechkam...

dude, you are misinterpreting the "poor" israel comment . it said "...against a poor israel side". in context, it was saying that israel were poor in that particular game. which they were. as were england.

besides, terry butcher is not steve mclaren...if one says one thing, and the other another, no-one has changed their mind! don't get me wrong, mclaren is fickle and influenced by the press etc. (dropping beckham being a prime example of this), but it's absurd to use contradictory quotes from two different people to say one has changed their mind! it seems you think all english people are one homogenous mass, where everything said by any individual is somehow the product of the entire country.

Yo Arnaud, yes, some of the stuff that McClaren has done doesn't make sense at all. He comes accross as a dubitative man. His recent trip here to watch Beckham play in a charity match was a farce. The same say he could've watched any match in the EPL to monitor all of them available players, but he flew all the way here to watch ONE single player.

McClaren perhaps told the English FA he wanted to see Beckham, but maybe he also wanted to land the LA Galaxy job. If that were the case, perhaps someone should tell McClaren he's wasting his time. I doubt an MLS franchise will trust its club to him, but strange things happen all the time.

I don't know what's going on with McClaren and his England/Beckham situation. Is he doing this just to help Beckham reach 100 caps? I don't know Arnaud, but what I know is that McClaren was hired purely on reputation of winning a meaningless cup and being in midtable mediocrity with his club, and Beckham nowadays makes a living on his reputation and remaining hype alone for his football skills are almost all gone.

LA Galaxy have high standards when it comes to managers, that's why they've just appointed Ruud Gullit.

What England need is a change of football philosophy. They should start playing short passes, and introducing a playmaker and doing away with this 4-4-2 system. I dont' recall any big national team in the world still playing 4-4-2, maybe Germany but the rest have shifted away from it.
