City in for Adriano !

Manchester City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra has revealed they are pondering a move for Inter Milan's unsettled striker Adriano.
Thaksin told reporters in Hong Kong: "We're looking to see whether we'll do a swap deal or not.

"Adriano was a top player, but he lost form when his father died, and he put on weight. Now he's returning to form."

If we get a fit Adriano than i will be very happy, at his best he is an incredible player and i think its worth taking a chance on him. It would be a fresh start in a new country playing in a team that likes to play attacking football and i think he'd fit in very well.

I expect we're trying to do some kind of swap deal for Bianchi.

Could be an awesome deal. So many players have reignited their careers with the right move. I'm pretty surprised Newcastle haven't been linked, he seems like the kind of player (circumstances and ability) that Fat Sam used to revive at Bolton.

Adriano would probably play under Sven rather then Sam , it could be a master stroke or one of the worst move , its worth the effort though.
Wouldnt mind him at Old Trafford.

IF you land Adriano, and IF he acclimatises and IF he regains some shape and form, he would be an absolutely super purchase.

He is IMO ideal for the premiership, just his sheer power and pace, and his Shearer esq finishes.

He'd be an interesting acquisition for the premier league.

Its cos Sven wont rule out a move for him (he wont ever comment of speculation ) so the press are going to keep linking us with him cos we need a striker and Sven obviously rates him. But i think he has other targets in mind ahead of Owen in terms of Adriano, Anelka and Alves.

Yeah i think he is made for the EPL, plus he'd fit well into our system playing just ahead of Elano (someone who can help him settle in).

Also i dont think Sven will risk signing him unless he can prove he is fit once he returns from the fitness camp he is at in Brazil. Sven is the man who can get him back to his best IMO and i think he could be a brilliant signing.

Too true. And for me, this is as good a move as Adriano could make - it could well be like Mutu's move to Fiorentina - slightly lower expectations but he'd become centre of the limelight (after Elano and Richards at least) + Sven I think could get his confidence back up to the levels it was at Parma

Vagner Love would be a great buy for a team like city. He's a goalscorer - exactly what they need. He would thrive on Elano through-balls, and he has the pace to run off the shoulder. Plus, he has more than decent technique and a trick or two.

Do you remember the way he did Gallas with a great piece of skill at the Emirates?

City will certainly buy a striker in January. I hope they make Europe next season.
