It's jose's fault your squad isn't as good this year. it is his squad after all Wink

you will no doubt be fine after that sending off

It's the same squad that won both domestic cups, finished 2nd in the Prem and lost on penalties in the CL semi. Hardly a terrible squad to come into is it coater. Wink

If Fat Frank hadn't got injured we'd be winning this game ok

Decent first half. O'Hara needs to slow his game down a little, he seems to be snatching at passes. Malbranque's expression for Robbie's goal was priceless and finally its amazing how much less I $h!t myself now that King (>Terry) is controlling the back four.

What's kind of a gift & a curse about our squad is that we have several players who are very cocksure about their own ability - i.e. Berbs, Keano, Hudds, Adel, Kaboul, O'Hara. We haven't played great but are still doing the job. Can't complain.

A shame the Reading player got sent off, it was an entertaining match up until that point, but West Ham have been comfortable since then. The second half of the Chelsea game is very interestingly poised. I think Chelsea will get back into it, but with all their injuries it certainly isn't an easy task.

it has lost it's attacking edge

good players for you like duff, robben and guddy have been replaced with nonsense like shevchenko, pizarro and kalou. When drogba doesn't play what on earth is there to fear ? avram has promised an attacking team but without the proper tools it is not easy.

I doubt many sides will fear coming up against this current chelsea team. It is solid and workmanlike but has pretty much no fantasy about it. Roman will have to dig deep if avram and ten cate are to change that

Doesn't score many, but doesn't concede many either coater (although maybe today isn't such a good day to say this).

I want to know why we were set up to play 4-2-4, with Essien and Lampard as the 2 midfielders. If they want to do that, at least play Essien-Mikel or Essien-Makelele (or even Makelele-Mikel), 3 players who will stop the other team from attacking.

    ok

I worked it out the other day and posted it on the Chelsea thread. I think we're averaging 0.3 more goals per game overall under Grant (gone up from something like 2.1 to 2.4), yet are conceding more too. I think Grant's going to be a manager who has the occasional 6-0, 4-0 wins when the whole team is fit and everyone plays well, but over a season he'll have no fewer 1-0 and 2-0 wins than Jose.

Regarding the game, I'd get Cech off now personally. Completely ridiculous idea to play him and expect him to be at his 100% best.
