Thank you calidad. That´s why I have selected this board. You have posters from all over the world, so it´s truly international. I know, some of them are interested in the Bundesliga, which is not usual in these days.

@ DS: You are right. Most of the posters here are native speakers or speak an English near perfection. So it´s an opportunity to improve my English as well.
But to me the main thing is to talk about football, the passion we all share.

A Gladbach fan! You are most welcome kroesius!

Bundesliga fans are pretty rare on this board, expect a lot of Cr@p being written about the league, but don't let it discourage you.

Oh, and congrats on the (almost done) promotion. Gladbach needs to be in the 1. Bundesliga. Ale

    Thank you blut! Smile
I am a huge critic of the Bundesliga myself. We can definitely do better than we did in the recent years.
But to be honest, I like the terraces the cheap tickets and the atmosphere.
It´s league for the fans. I hope this doesn´t change, even if it means, that Bundesliga clubs never win the Champions League again.

    Thank you Ricardo.

Yes, Jos is still our manager. He is the main reason of our promotion.

I have heard of some posters on this board, who doubt the abilties of dutch managers. They don´t know Jos, that´s for sure.

He´s the best we had for more than a decade.

My Dad, who is also a die hard Gladbach fan used to tell me about that Euopean Cup final 1977 in Rome, we lost against you. He was so impressed of the 30000 Liverpool fans in Rome.

Did you now there is a special friendship between Mönchengladbach and Liverpool, which existed since that time.
Gladbach and Liverpool fans visit each other regulary.

Some Pool fans are travelling over next weekend to watch our last home match against Freiburg. (Hopefully our last Match in the 2.Bundesliga forever)

I have only seen the 77 match on video now, but the commentator mentioned the carnival atomsphere bwteen the two sets of fans before and during the game. It's where our 'love affair' with the European Cup began <Ale>

Yes, I have heard and read of the special bond between L'pool and Gladbach. The friend of mine I mentioned earlier, while he lives in Ireland, he is part of a group of Gladbach's who travel to L'pool every now and again. He is a big fan of your goalscorer in '77, Alan Simonsen ok

Germany in general, whether it was faced yourselves, Bayern or Leverkusen has always been a great place to go for travelling Reds.

On your promotion, all the best with next weekend. Your a big and certainly should be playing in the Bundesliga 1 Ale

    ALL ROADS LEAD TO GLADBACH!

We are travelling to Moenchengladbach tomorrow, for the annual LFC supporters Friendship trip to Moenchengladbach. In 2007, I took 25 people with me in total, for the 30th annivewrsary celebrations since Liverpool FC met Borussia MG in the 1977 European cup final in the eternal city of Rome.

This year the grand total of Liverpool supporters accompanying me to Gladbach is approaching 50 - nearly double last years total. We have to be careful anyway NOT to take too many tickets for Gladbach's Sunday last match of the 2007/2008 season as Gladbach require just a point to be crowned Champions of the German Bundesliga 2nd Division and make an immediate return to the Bundesliga 1, following their relegation last season. If we were to take too many tickets, then maybe it would breed a little bit of resentment as we would be taking tickets of true and loyal Borussia Moenchenglabdach supporters for a massive match, although that is unlikely as their affinity for all things LFC is truly amazing, therefore 50 tickets is enough for such an important fixture.

Borussia Moenchengladbach have invited me once again, like last year to address in German via a microphone the capacity 54000 sell out attendance on the Borussia Park pitch just 20 minutes before kick off. I will be accompanied on the Borussia Park playing surface with 5 other Liverpool FC supporters as we unveil our specially commissioned Friendship flag.
The Friendship flag this year will be officially handed over to the Gladbach "Nord Kurve" , Gladbach's equivalent of the Kop, this year as a special gesture of Friendship towards our German counterparts.
This year's LFC supporters Freindship visit will also involve a free of charge stadium tour of the impressive 54000 capacity Borussia Park stadium, a meeting with Gladbach's Sports Director and ex-Red Christian Ziege amd a tour of the pubs and clubs of the Moenchengladbach Alt Stadt (Old Town).

On Saturday 10 May 2008, all travelling Liverpool supporters have been invited to a Borussia Moenchengladbach private party for the princely sum of 20 Euros (approximately £17.50), this will include all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks all night.
Sunday is match day, Borussia MG versus SC Freiburg in Borussia's last home match of the 2007/2008 season. This will also involve an all day Fan Party between liverpool FC and Borussia supporters starting at 11 am and ending approximately midnight - it promises to be a fantastic day, the beer will be flowing!!

As I always say when talking about Borussia MG and their amazing supporters, it should NEVER be forgotten that in 1991, a delegation of Borussia MG supporters came to Liverpool and presented a cheque for 21000 Deutsch Marks (approximately £8000) to the hillsborough families - a truly amazing gesture.

All Liverpool supporters on the Friendship trip will be representing Liverpool FC and the City of Liverpool, therefore frIendship and good behaviour will be the order of the day.
I will write a report about the 2008 LFC supporters Friendship visit to Gladbach on our return, and if you want to join us for next years visit, then contact me via my E-mail address.
Graham Agg (2008 Liverpool FC supporters Friendship trip organiser)

Great gesture by the Liverpool fans

It seems that the friendship between Gladbach and Liverpool supporters got even stronger over the years, although our clubs went different ways. It´s more than 30 years now, which is truly impressive considering that it often takes less than ten years from marriage to devorce.

A good example that even today there are other things in football that count as much as buying superstars and winning titles. Ale

Hope to go to Croatia early next year if work sorts it out to Split. Saw them put England out at Wembley. Bilic got a round of applause at the press conference as journalists here were delighted to see the back of McClaren.

Do you support any club teams? I hope to go see Hajduk Split while there. They have an interesting history.

Okay. I hear that Split is beautiful - Croatia too.

During the war when the Italians marched into Split Mussolini offered Hajduk Split the opportunity to play in the Italian top league. Hajduk refused. They later secretly joined the partisans on mass and became the team of the partisans. Pretty courageous for footballers to do that in the Second World War. They also refused Tito's offer to move to Belgrade. Interesting club.
