Do Barca have a few injury worries? Is Puyol going to be fit?

Huge injury problems, in fact. Puyol is back in training and is now expected to be fit for the Celtic match, as is Etoo. But both will miss the game this weekend. There are other players out as well, but we won't know anything for sure until Rijkaard announces the squad.

I think we will draw or lose 1-0 (or similar) at Parkhead. But at the Camp Nou I'm sure we can finish them off as they are terrible away. Becareful travelling Celtic fans, since your blue "brothers" came to Barcelona the police have got really strict with away fans. Quite a few Stuttgart fans were fined on the spot for drinking/pissing on the streets.

Yeah, it'll be like the Rangers match IMO - 0-0 in Scotland, but when they come for the 2nd leg their fans will be drunk, and the players will not be able to cope on the large pitch, so 2-0. Henry might even score.

A lot of teams coming to Camp Nou for the first time struggle to maintain their shape because the pitch is larger than normal. Plus our own players find it easier to make spaces and find a pass.

I thought the pitch was smaller? When I went it certainly seemed pretty small to me. I think playing away in Europe anywhere is incredibly difficult, there's hostility, different weather conditions, travelling effects etc, nothing beats the home leg in Europe with the fans right behind you

There are many reasons. I guess the basic one is that it's just a different culture here. The team pushes the crowd not the other way round here (well at least in Barcelona). Also majority of the stadium are older people as well and no organized stand for young people (as Laporta had promised). Not selling alcohol in the stadium is a major reason as well Wink

    See here, golsud.

Also, Celtic fans tend to be jovial on the road, particularly in Europe. They won a prize from FIFA recently for having the best behaved fans.

Celtic fans won the FIFA Fair Play award because of their good behaviour.

Alcohol isn't sold in any 1st,2nd and 2nda B division stadiums. You can get fined 3001€ if you smuggle your own alcohol inside and they catch you with it.

Ah, I see. My apologies for the misunderstanding. I hope you enjoy the game if you go.

I'm sure you will triumph in Spain, but Celtic, and McGeady in particular, may give you a hard time in Glasgow.

4-4-2 for you lot? And no Messi? SPORT says Rijkaard will play the following (although maybe Gudjohnsen for Deco):

    ----------------Valdes

    Puyol----Milito---Marquez----Abidal

    Deco-----Xavi-----Toure-----Iniesta

    ------------Eto'o---Henry

Interesting but that team would lack width.

this is what a poster on another forum recommended we play

    ---------------------VV

    -------Puyol--------Milito---------Abidal

    --------------Yaya-------Xavi/Marquez

    ----Messi-----------Deco----------Iniesta

    --------------Eto'o--------Henry

If only it were FM that would rock.

it would be interesting to see how Henry and eto'o connect up front and with dinho's lost of pace he would be very good in the hole in the future.

I said to my friend last night that I think Barca should play with a midfield diamond and then wait until Celtic tire before adding width to their formation and attacking Celtic relentlessly.

I'm almost certain Strachan will go 4-5-1. He'll do this to stifle your play and in the hope that Celtic can get a single goal.
