Lennon is in the U-21 squad, but Agbonlahor isn't...so that probably means the latter is in the full England squad. The list will be announced soon.

    lol!

Looks like he benefitted most from Capello's "clean slate". Probably played well in one game when Capello was watching, and voila, he's in the England squad! Will probably get cut when the final list is announced on Saturday though.

New faces, new ideas should never be mocked.

Many people turned their noses up in this fashion when Barry was named in the England squad.

Now apart from Shazzam, the rest of the country knows he turned out to be probably the best player under Mclaren's shoddy reign, alongside Rio.

As long as the basics are there, I have faith. Glen Johnson is definitely a talented footballer. His issue has mostly been tactically and positionally. He's matured a lot since his last disastrous inclusion.

these new fellas all deserve a chance. We've got nothing to lose <Ale>

Capello never plays the best players... he plays the players who fit his system best.

Expect a lot of experiments, and slowly players will start claiming their places in his system.... and they will not necessarily be the best players or the players the public/media wants...

I think there is a message in the large number of CBs in the provisional squad... Capello is letting it be known that there will be some changes.

Also, Italian coaches almost always pick 8 defenders in a squad. And 5-6 strikers!! In a country with so much clutter in the midfield, I would love to see how this unfolds.

Upson deserves his call up. If anyone actually watched him they'd agree.

He's in a defence which is the 4th best in the league stats wise.

No Hart or Green is pathetic though.

I'll give you this one because I didn't make it obvious. The smiles were positive. And I'm Barry biggest supporter if you've read any of my previous posts. I like the way Capello is trying young talented defenders rather sticking with the "tried and tested".
