"Over the last few years our away form in Europe has not been the best," admitted Giggs. "But we are on a real run now and we want to carry it on in every competition."

Who would you think knows better about Manchester United's away form in Europe, Welsh wonderkid Ryan Giggs or Yorkshire based Southampton fan AGM?

    Erm

You poor, deluded spic. I'm not saying Man U have had a great away record in Europe, I'm saying that it's been better since last season. Before that it was quite distinctively poor.

You were trying, now you're backing off.

As sir les has just posted, the issue is uncontroversial as the poor results and subsequent moaning about performances did actually happen.

You know as well as I do that claiming something is 'uncontroversial' bears no relation with its validity.

Things have changed this season as i also said with the real tests lying ahead

Things changed last season, and the big games do indeed lie ahead.

I guess Ryan Giggs going along with my point is the sort of thing that would make me think it was uncontroversial.

As a general point that's often true but as far as football is concerned less so.
Ryan Giggs going along with my point also makes me think it is valid.

We havent been great away from home in the 2-3 years previous to this one in the champions league? of course it's valid it's a fact. But last year you saw big improvements from the year previous, and this season won 2 drew 1. So clearly the issue is gone. <Ale>

Is Downing so good, because he plays wide, so if he hoofs the ball, technically it's a cross?

I can understand it happening once. 'Should of' I assume comes from 'Should've' (Should have). Once you've been told this once I don't know how you can forget it. Is it really that difficult?
