Re: La Liga Jornada 33
Atleti are a joke. Lost at home to a Betis side minus their best player. They'll struggle to hold on to 4th place I feel now. May well be asking their compatriots across the city for a favour tomorrow.
Toure was fantastic today. Also think Zambrotta is improving, but he still seems to lack confidence with his final ball.

Zambrotta is superb with the technical stuff - positioning (ok, lacks here sometimes because he's on the right), marking, turning, forcing strikers away from goal, etc. But when it comes to attacking duties, he is utterly clueless. By signing him and then later Abidal, we all thought we would strengthen the side, but instead it has just exposed even more the requirement of fast, wide, attacking fullbacks for such a system.

Barca are very similar to Arsenal, great chances, too much messing around.

I think Eto'o is a bit erratic. Henry or Dinho would have finished those chances
Though you could argue they may have not gotten into those positions.

Re: La Liga Jornada 33
La Liga has been weird this year. Hardly any side can put a consistent run together. I don't know if that's down to a drop in quality in the top sides or the so called 'smaller' teams being difficult. It's probably a bit of both.

I really didn't see anything for Adriano to be red carded (maybe an yellow for complaining). What was the reason?!?!Rosicky wrote:sevilla down to 10 men. and are playing with 2 defenders (and 1 is an attacking fullback)

Re: La Liga Jornada 33
In any case, it has been rather frustrating and disappointing season for the football fans of Spanish football, especially La Liga, as it appears to be the league that no one deserve to win (i.e. the potential winner is not playing better than others). Maybe, we should have predicted it when Real Madrid was ammasing so many points on the back of diabolical performances... (And I'm a madridista)Calidad wrote:La Liga has been weird this year. Still have the champions league as well!

That is what I dreaded, well containment is a option but it’s easy said than done.
What do you reckon will be the Barça fans mentality in the game?

Re: La Liga Jornada 33
Espanyol parked the bus so it was difficult for the other players to come up with anything good to get past. Messi did the same every time, cutting inside, yet got closer to goal and created some chances for Etoo. I don't think Man. Utd. will park the bus, so it should mean more space, but if we are not more careful with the ball then we'll get slaughtered on the counter with the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo running at our defense.
Late in the half, Rijkaard was shouting at the players to pass it to Messi...but if we resort to that, it's a clear sign of desperation, and then it's easily countered by just putting two men on him.
Re. the fans mentality - negative, angry, worried, etc. It was quiet throughout the game yesterday, with another handkerchief-waving protest at the end.

Re: La Liga Jornada 33
Rumours say Morientes will go to Getafe next season...could be a great signing for them because I think he still has a couple of good years left in him. Feel a bit sorry for the guy even though he's ex-Madrid, because he got shafted for no reason whatsoever when Ronaldo joined. Morientes' career from there has been mostly downhill, barring a good season with Monaco.

Can't wait to see him tear the mancs a new one. Just a shame his team mates can't be arsed to turn up for games anymore, so he might have to do it all alone.
