I think English football in general is xenophobic, in the players that get favoured by officials, in the players that get hyped, and, ultimately, in some cases, in the players that managers tend to play, support, give chances to. Like 110% says, the issue is first and foremost the double standards, whilst this particular incident also highlights how Ferguson manipulates the referees in this country, or is simply favoured by them regardless of any manipulation.
It's kind of surprising to me how many high-scoring games Villa have been involved in this season - lots of 4-1's, 4-0's, 4-4's. They have the players to score from Young's deliveries, and with Young and Agbonlahor, they can stretch teams, but I hadn't realised how many goals they'd scored - more than anyone away from home this season, and the fifth highest scorers at home - or conceded. I guess I'd considered them a bit more of a conservative team, with the two defensive minded full backs, with Barry, Petrov and Reo Coker in midfield.
I reckon Berbatov will still be at Tottenham next season.
