La Liga Team of the Season Empty La Liga Team of the Season

Post by Jaime Thu May 15, 2008 5:43 pm

I suppose there won't be as many Espanyol players this time around as there were in the Team of the Mid-season. Biggrin Anyhow, here is my XI:

    ---------------Casillas

    S.Ramos----Milito---Amorebieta----Capdevila

    Messi------Senna------R.Garcia------Robinho

    ------------Agüero----D.Güiza

Honourable mention to: Toño, Dani Alves, Lopo, Yaya Toure, Cazorla, Luis Fabiano

Decided on Senna over Yaya Toure in the end; not really sure if Robinho deserves to be there over the whole season but couldn't think of anyone who's been signficantly better. I also selected Aguero over Luis Fabiano even though Fabiano scored more goals I think there have been few players as good as Kun this season.

While i think he started well i have been disapointed by him in the second half of the season.Good call on Senna who has made up for his poor season last year.

In Valencia...unless they had the day off today in which case maybe he headed for Denia.

otto, put your german head aside, GK has more shots at him than any other GK in the league BUT his side concede the least amount of goals and hence win the title rather than NOT. sorry otto but Casillas is easily the best GK in spain if not the world (as an atleti fan that is not easy to admit, trust me)

No honourable mention for Bojan, despite all the failings at Barça this season he relatively had a good one (his debut one let us not forget)

He's showed his promise, but I don't think he's been one of the leagues best players.

He has scored goals and more then i figured he would but i havent been impressed with his performances. he is too easy to bully around and often disapears. he doesnt score great goals yet but a good thing is that he has a good eye for being a the right place.so a good poacher already but he still has alot of things to add but he has a good foundation no doubt.

My God huge expectations for a 17yr old, not using his age as a excuse but I’m confident that as many have pointed he will mature into a class act.

No i think he has done well for a 17 old but that is it. many i hear are claming he has had a great season compared the best. i cant remember a player getting soo much hype at 17 without justifying it. but for a 17 year he has done well but that is it.

In terms of forwards even Nihat and Forlan have had better seasons IMO.

    Diego Alves over Casillas?

Would have Cazorla in over Robinho.

And yeah, no Milito. Will post my full team later.

Difficult to disagree with that side really. Though I'm not sure I'd have Milito there.

Possibly Jonas is worthy of a mention, but I've only seen him a handful of times.

Keita has been good, as has Capel (but not better than Robinho IMO)

On a consistent season then yes. for what they did at their peaks no. Robinho was playing treat untill he got injuried and then he was rushed back. dont know what happened since between him and Shuster but he doesnt quite look as confident. im sure that had he not been injuried he would have had a great season by now. the thing is this is a team over the best of the entire season and not those who could have had so Carzorla deserves it just as much and more then Robinho.

Carlos Martins at Huelva? I heard he had a good season... 7 goals as an ACM.
