a GREAT match is close or has a brilliant come-back

Holland scored an early , freaky , controversial goal, Italy FAILED to respond, Holland scored a second one, effectively sealing the lid, Italy did not respond, Holland scored a third now mostly on the break, Italy did not respond

....

it was entertaining to watch the World Champ get humiliated, but NOT a good match at all

In terms of tension, drama and excitement Switzerland vs Turkey has been the best game so far. Both teams went for it and the late winner topped it off.

Switzerland-Czech Rep. 5 - nice tempo but with too few goals

Portugal-Turkey - didn't watch

Germany-Poland 6 - mildly entertaining for a neutral

Austria-Croatia 3 - lack of goals didn't help

Romania-France 1 - one of the worst games i've had the displeasure of watching in a while, i really think that was pretty much as bad as football can get

Holland-Italy 7 - very entertaining game, a little too one sided to get anything higher though

Spain-Russia 6 - ditto, no real contest between the teams despite the abundance of goals and attractive football from the Spanish

Greece-Sweden 4 - grim as f@ck barring the two very entertaining goals

Czech rep.-Portugal 8 - fast tempo, good finishes, plenty of shots, end to end football and an even contest, best match so far

Switzerland-Turkey 7 - nice game, with a high tempo and both teams playing for the win

I'm not agreeing with the "one sided" remark (also not with a lot of people who said Italy were simply poor and didn't turn up).

Italy wasn't playing that bad at all and looked sure to make the 2-1 in the second 45 minutes.

Of course the 3-0 is a brilliant result for us, but don't be blinded by those numbers : it was a lot closer than that scoreline makes you believe

By the way I expect this tourney to come up with a better match than the best match at a Euro ever (France v Portugal 3-2 aet, SF at Euro 1984), which was 9.5/10.
