What? An Otto post that is not completely jingoistic or tinged with racist contempt, and actually has an element of truth to it?

Moutinho could fill in for Deco no problem for me. Quaresma/Simao/Nani offer nowhere near the goal threat of Ronaldo, Ronaldo makes them from a good/very good to one of the favourites/potential winners.

They have three brazilians while Germany have only one, Otto.

Unlike them you aren't smart enough to let brazilian players get a second nationality. If Germany had Dedê in the place of Jansen, probably you wouldn't have got trashed against Croatia.

    Think about it

    Final score:

    Portugal 3 x 1 Germany

Really don't like this naturalisation thing. Especially when there is so little justified criteria applied. Podolski is fine. Gurreiro playing for Poland is just wrong.

Seriously what would happen if Andorra nationalised a whole bunch South Americans and/or Africans.

He's counting on the Ronaldo hate to get everyone to agree, that way he can slam Portugal (Germany's next opponent) with the accusation that their main player is a Brazilian Ale

Their influence on the team is comparable for sure but I think it's a futile exercise. They are complementary players and without one the other one wouldn't be able to shine.

Ronaldo draws three opposing players, thus giving the rest of the team, Deco included, more space and time on the ball.

Ronaldo spearheads the counter attacking moves with his pace but only because Deco is clever enough to anticipate his runs and put in beautiful 40 yard passes.

Ronaldo is a better finisher but it's up to Deco to split the defence with his passing.

I liken their understanding at the moment to the Ronaldo-Rooney partnership. Of course Rooney and Deco are different players but Deco at the moment is working like the foil for Ronaldo's spear.

I rather miss a prediction than say things like "Ballack is far more valuable than Ronaldinho as a match winner by completing the TEAM" and "Ballack is more effect as an attacking midfielder than Ronaldinho" when Ronaldinho was at his peak.

Anyway, congrats for reaching the semis. Good luck against Turkey! A defeat against them would be very bad for Bundesliga. Don't forget that Lincoln left one of the most popular football german teams (that earned a UCL spot) to join a turkish club.

Fill in perhaps, but not replace. Moutinho isn't as a creative as Deco he's more balanced.

Neither of the three have the option to play CF during the game Wink

So I wasn't so wrong after all, Otto.

If Germany had Dedê playing instead of BARRACUDA probably you wouldn't have conceded the spanish goal.

And a player born and raised in Brazil had THE ONE in his pocket for 90 minutes!

So, you are not angry, that Senna doesn´t play for Brazil? He could be very useful for you.

It´s annoying to see so many Brazilians playing for other countries.
(Don´t come up with Kuranyi, who has never been Brazilian)
Fifa has to find a solution here.

No, Dede simply is not good enough.

No, he can't be useful for Brazil now. He is 31. Honestly I wouldn't play him ahead of Lahm, but if had a german passport he would have been very useful to Germany at 1998 and 2002 WC. He was an excellent full back and he is a Dortmund legend!

I was using his Otto's logic: "my fellow countrymen are always better than yours". Just joking.

Actually I agree with you. Fifa must find a solution to this situation. IMO Deco, Senna, Pepe, Roger and Aurélio shouldn't be playing at Euro. They were born and raised in Brazil and got a second nationality after spending a few years in Europe. I don't think that they can be considered portuguese, spanish, turkish, etc.
