As an Italian who has lived and studied in England, it was difficult for me to regularly fly home to go to Milan or Palermo for games, so i had to go to live games in England. As Arsenal play the best football and have great young players, i chose them.

This was a Carling Cup match against Wigan i went to see with an English friend, i believe it was the last ever domestic cup match at Highbury? I was hoping we would get to see Lupoli and Mannone as they usually play a reserve team in these matches, but Arsenal played a full-strength line-up incl. Henry, Hleb etc! Fabregas though i think was suspended, he didn't play.

Anyway, van Persie scored an incredible freekick but Roberts scored in the last second of extra time to put Wigan to the final on away goals.

Here are some of the photos .

Nice pictures. You can see my old seat in the third picture! It's high up in the North Bank just to the left of the penalty box.

I've got loads of pictures from the final game at Highbury and the first game at Emirates. I'l need to put them on my computer and put some up here.

-nigel reo-coker bursting through the defence to make it 0-1

-bobby zamora making campbell look silly, 0-2

    -matthew etherington making it 1-3

-glum looking arsenal fans as we sing at full time (final score 2-3)

-the train home, was like a party.

Where you one of the people who joined in with the Ole's 5 minutes from time, only for Roberts to score in the last minute and knock Arsenal out? Very Happy

I went as a 'sort of' neutral - i wanted Arsenal to win but really just wanted to see a good match and visit this historic stadium.

I though the 'ole' was pretty disrespectful, the game is never over until the last whistle, the whole part of the East Stand where we were sitting went silent, then everybody stormed out.

    Yeah they were.

I'm no fan of Wigan but as soon as I heard the Ole's from the Arsenal fans I was desperate for Wigan to win.

Not only was it disrespectful of them, it was plain stupid as well considering the score at the time. Rolling Eyes
