Maybe it has to go through some sort of virus screening process?

Not sure. Try it again later. Anyone else having problems with it. You may need the desktop.ini to make it work. Do you need separate ones for that, or will any do?

So England has the highest co efficient in Uefa now and Germany did alot better then France which I expect to continue this season.
Looking at financial rewards is interesting for eg
Participation bonus is 2 m + 1 m additional bonus + 2.4 m is match bonus so leaving the performance bonus and market pool aside thats 5.4 m for participating.

Also is strange that the marketing pool for Spain is so low compare to others.
Like RM getting 11 m and Olympiakos getting 9 m.
Its 9.5 m for the runner ups and 12.5 m for the winner which is lesser then the marketing pool.

So if you win the CL 5.4 for participating 12.5 for winning it (all the rounds) and you will get the performance bonus which is 3.3 for MU which is 21.2 m.

Which is hefty money but consider that the marketing pool received by MU is 19.5 m , 16 m for Chelsea 11.5 for semifinalists Liverpool and 10.5 for quarter finalist Arsenal is where I think these teams double up what they usually get from Uefa as compared to lets say Porto.

Its not only the English clubs though quarter-finalist As Roma receives 17 m in marketing pool 16 m for Milan they cleared 1st round of qualification same with Inter so these clubs take even more then the English clubs but that could be the 3 clubs reason.
Then there are sole representatives like PSV who are getting 20 m in this respect and Lyon Marseille who are getting 17 and 13 m respectively and German teams getting very good money while the Portugese teams getting alot less.
Its quite interesting if you really analyze it.

I think it would be interesting comparing the revenues of Uefa cup and CL and to point out PSV getting more the then CL champions in marketing pool so does that help the Dutch league in any way ?

Isn't that because Olympiakos is getting the entire Greece pool, whilst Real get only a share of the Spain pool because there are a couple more clubs from Spain competing in the CL ?
I absolutely abhor this system of the rich getting richer btw, it's the main reason football is being destroyed.

Not the league per se, but it is the only reason PSV manages to make the final 16 in the CL once in a while.
Without those funds we don't stand a chance at all (low tier foreign clubs already have so much spending bower they can attract stars from our champions), it's also killing us slowly : PSV needs those funds to be a little bit competative in the CL.....at the same time the other clubs in the CL get even more, so the gap is growing all the same.
Ajax have been out of the CL(money) for so long now that they'll never make it back : great system

Thats the point so this year more of these kind of representations are expected so thats creates a imbalance of its own like PSV getting so much dough which will happen to other leagues with 1 representative as well then things like Lyon winning 7-8 years and counting will happen.Axeslammer wrote:DS wrote:Also is strange that the marketing pool for Spain is so low compare to others.

This isnt my point to prove the current system is right because it is making rich richer but minor adjustments to it will make it even worse imo so something must be thought of really.
One easy way is to almost equal the prize money of participation for CL and Uefa cup almost because some reward should be there for qualfying ahead of your rivals in the league.
Some equality in prize money will help but that will bring the question whats the difference finishing 4th and 5th okay Uefa cup but the prize money difference isnt that great so alot to think about.
Ofcourse for bigger clubs it would be pride but that doesnt always happen.

Probably insignificant, but there's a neat little clause in the Doping regulations for a cynic. If you were "unlucky" enough to be injured in the match and required hospital treatment you would avoid being tested if you are selected.
I'd be surprised if it's ever actually occurred but I'd assume those in the know are aware of it.

What control would a player have on treatment en route to hospitalisation and don't samples have to be taken in doping control areas anyway? If so samples can't be taken as it would breach the anti-doping protocols which is hardly the injured player's fault.

They already have medical exemptions, this would simply be a further extension if they had to test a player. Probably done so to avoid the inconvenience of chasing them up and I can't blame them for that.
