Laudrup to Sevilla? Empty Laudrup to Sevilla?

Post by Jaime Fri Jan 09, 2009 8:21 pm

SuperMadrid will be disappointed if it happens...

Are you kidding me? This is great news because he will obviously turn around Sevilla winning the league which will leave Calderon no choice in the end of the season after winning shit all to turn to him. yeah this is all going according to plan. Cool

Seriously i don't think he will be joining us in the next year anyway so i prefer to see him in Spain and frankly i have no idea why he chose to go to Russia. As odd a move as Del Bosque in Turkey. Laudrup said himself that the goal was always to come back to spain and coach there since it is second country. i have no doubt that he will be a succes in the big two clubs and he had admitted that he is the type of coach that works best in a big club which didn't stop him from doing quite well with Getafe.

Is Jimenez really that unpopular? Sevilla are like what, 3rd in La Liga? No doubt they are not anywhere near as exciting as they were under Ramos, but they have lost some important players like Keita, Alves, Poulsen and Puerta.

Admittedly, he still has a wealth of attacking options that dwarf most other La Liga sides, so I can understand some of the criticism.

Their league position is good and they've been excellent defensively. And their recent form hasn't been too bad but, I think Sevilla going out of the UEFA Cup was a major strike against Jimenez.

Like I said in the other thread, this is seriously ridiculous...why Jimenez is coming under pressure, I just can't understand.

As for Laudrup, I think the Atletico position will be open in the summer. That's another set of fans who like to criticise every single manager of theirs if the team doesn't win for 2 games in a row.

That's a good point, but I think he just underestimated the strength of the opposition in Sevilla's group. Considering they'll easily qualify for it next season as well, or maybe even get a CL spot, he deserves time.

They are doing reasonably well because of the players they have and he adds no value to the team.

Much of them being weaker offensively this year is because they no longer have their fullback/playmaker Alves. Alves made it possible for them to play such a non creative midfield as Poulsen-Keita without suffering from it. now their midfield don't have to worry as much about covering for Alves which helps the defence.

I really hope Laudrup doesn't end up in Atletico because while he could have succes it is a club that simply has too much pressure on it. plus if Aguero goes away they lose alot of their attack.

Jimenez is out of favour because he has a more conservative styles compared to Ramos. 1 Striker up top etc.

Whilst I don't rate Jimenez 1 up front has been forced on him by injuries.

Ramos used that system in the run in 06/07 and it cost them the league IMO.

That was a month or so ago. Lately he's been keeping Fabiano on the bench and playing Kanoute upfront.

Not as i remember. if i remember correctly Ramos normally always used Kanoute and then switched between strikers. however against the big teams away he normally played with one striker and it didn't work well at all since they didn't get any points away to the other big teams.
