Only joking, I know who it is really. It's that c**t Jesus.

Whatever quarrels and dislike I have for United at domestic level, they are worthy ambassadors for British Football - a team historically consisting of English, Scots, Welsh, Irish (who we know are wannabe British) with a smattering of latin flair. They also commendably try to bring through youth, even if they aren't exactly fashionable (O Shea, Fletcher for example). This has been the United way historically, and continues to be, and for that, in Europe, they are far from being the "evil" that is being made out on here.

Inter, on the otherhand, have raided South America football for virtually their entire first team. Other than Super Mario, I don't believe they have any Italian players who can be called youth products playing in their first team. And to top it all off, Mourinho has them playing an unexciting brand of football.

Which team represents the dark side really?

That is true but I don't think they have anything against local players as such in fact they currently have a couple of good ones coming through.

I'm British, ergo I respect United for being a team with a British ethos.

So what how Inter were formed? Arsenal were formed by a bunch of workers from an armaments factory. What bearing does that have on the team today. Perhaps Inter should forget about having a youth team then, or scouting in Italy. Your final point about them playing a LB Italian youth product contradicts the whole basis of this argument.

Sticking to our philosophy for a 100 years now is admirable, my friend. There was a time when players were being discriminated due to their nationality... Inter were formed to change that, to select players IRRESPECTIVE of their nationality... there was a lot of opposition to such free thinking, as you can understand from Italy's history, but the club followed it the best way possible.

I am in fact proud that even now, when UEFA rules hurt us for not having the required number of association/club trained players, the club sticks to its principles. I remember last few seasons when we were looking for players, and many times had to choose between an Italian player and a foriegner, inspite of the fact that buying an Italian would have helped us from UEFA perspective, Moratti went on record to say that he will NOT consider nationality as a criteria. Coz thats what we are, and thats what we will always be. Internazionale!

btw, two of our starters tonight are italians from our youth academy.

Look at it from another angle... we were the first club to have that angle. Now the whole of europe, including all english clubs, copies our vision.

We are the ORIGINAL Internazionale, following a vision a 100 years before its time. True visionaries. You are all just poor copycats, no vision, just going with the times and trying to take advantage of loopholes. Razz Razz

It's no surprise to see Deano and Twerp supporting Man Utd, although it is a disappointment. Spurs and West Ham are just their feeder club so it's inevitable really.

It seems to be presumed so often, but I don't see why it is inherently good for a team to field locally or nationally born players.

So all this isn't the point as far as I'm concerned - but tonight, Man Utd are starting with four English players, whilst Inter are starting with two Italians; Man Utd have five Englishmen in their squad, whereas Inter have three Italians in theirs. Man Utd have British players in their squad in addition to these five, but then, there are such links between Argentina and Italy (something like 65% of Argentinians are partly descended from Italians) that I don't think it is easy (and I certainly don't think it is useful or relevant) to distinguish clearly between the relationship shared by England and Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on the one hand, and the relationship shared by Italy and Argentina on the other. There must be better reasons for favouring a team than because they field a couple more homegrown players than another.

No question they're the most impressive team in the last 16......

    No.

Giggs aside, no Man Utd player was really impressive. u need to have a scrub to clean yourself, I also suggest you go to your local church and book an appointment in the confession box tomorrow.

    Supporting Man Utd, unforgivable!

You know what they'll do with that extra CL cash? Turn around and take the next Sheringham/Berbatov/Carrick off our hands Evil or Very Mad
