Fiorentina should top the group. Lyon and Liverpool battle it out for 2nd place. Lyon will probably take it.

Yeh they had a pretty mediocre mercato. Still didn't buy a CB to partner Gamberini.

Liverpool will be first then Lyon or Fiorentina.
I think Lyon is much stronger than last year,, although we sold Benzema and no longer have Juninho, but the new players we bought for 74m euros have adapted well, especially Lisandro. It is going be interesting games.

Realitively happy with the draw.
Only real worry is both Lyon and Fiorentina's attack which correct me if I'm wrong, look to be their main asset.. even still we should be be looking to top group. Lyon will no doubt finish 2nd in my mind with Lisandro and Gomis leading their line.

Should be an easy start to the campaign on Wednesday, I'll be happy with anything over 3-0 to us, I think we'll go with this team:

That was bloody awful.
I hate the arrogance we showed tonight, players thinking it`s enough just turning up.
Torres is starting to worry me and has been for a few games now. He has been well below par. What`s bugging me is not just that he isn't performing, Too bad we dont have any option, as he could use a match or 2 starting on the bench to get a kick up the backside.
Gerrard's finishing was well below par and he had alot of a sloppy passes also. Looking forward to Aquilani coming back so Gerrard can move forward again and we still have someone in the centre of midfield is very capable of hurting the opponent while on the ball.
The rest of the attacking force such as Riera, Johnson, Yossi and Kuyt only ever looked convincing once or twice each in the game.
Lucas played very well, my Motm.
All in all, it's still three points and a clean sheet. But. Very much glad the match is over

I'm worried about the pressure on Aquilani's shoulders. Everyone thinks he's going to come in, be amazing and we'll all forget about Alonso. Might not be the case, he might need time to adapt to the English game. Don't even know who Rafa's going to drop for him, he clearly is a big fan of Lucas so it might not be the straight swap that everyone seems to think will happen.
Agree on Torres, against Burnley and tonight he was shocking. Maybe he misses Gerrard linking up with him in a 4-5-1 but he didn't look happy or assed tonight.
If we turn up to West Ham and play like that on Saturday evening we'll get beat for sure.

we played just as poorly at times when Alonso was in the team. We got the 3 points and hopefully tonight will be a kick up the backside for some.
No one has mentioned Babel as far as I can see, I thought he did well. Lucas too, perhaps we slipped into some weird alternative universe.
