Surely Babel has to come on now to try and inject something into our attack.

When you see Kelly the young lad come in a give such a mature performance defensively AND offensively you do wonder despite Johnson having a cracking start to his career, we could have allocated £17m to another striker / attacking midfielder who could have come on now to change this type of game.

Wow thats some knee-jerkery there. Tweedle in disguise?

Call it knee jerk, of course its only one performance, however you see on one side of our defence Insua who has come through and done well, however against better teams his obvious lack of experience has at times been shown. Tonight Kelly comes on and plays like a 28 year old full back - begs the question if he does this day in day out on the training field, having another young and talented right back in Johnson infront of him indicates hes unlikely to get loads of chances, so a wasted talent? no?

£17m could have been used in our much recognised poor strength in depth upfront, no?

He's 19. I don't get it you disprove your own argument in the same paragraph you push it. The example of Insua shows you are being silly. If Spearing has a couple of great games are you going to say we shouldn't have bought Aquilani?

Actually my arguement contradicts Benitez, he gives Insua an opportunity, yet not Kelly through buying Johnson?

Its a question of opportunity cost, we clearly lack quality in depth upfront - i'm saying £17m could give you a lot of options in the transfer market upfront.

I assume you would prefer to stifle young talent coming through at the expense of addressing other areas. I'm in no way saying Johnson has been a dissapointment, but when we are looking for goals like tonight i'd rather Benitez have bought some depth upfront and used youth like Kelly and balanced that risk for the benefit of the whole team.

From your opposition, i assume you think the likes of Babel, Voronin and co are Liverpool quality, and you were happy we signed no attacking players this summer?

No. I just think your logic is massively flawed. Had Rafa gambled on Kelly in the summer (he wasnt even that impressive in pre-season) then we would have rightly slagged him off. That has nothing to do with whether Johnson or Aquilani were better buys than a forward.

Don't spin your bullshit at me please btw - as if I want to stifle young talent or think those players are good enough for fucks sake.

Don't spin your bullshit at me please btw - as if I want to stifle young talent or think those players are good enough for fucks sake.

Kelly actually had a very decent pre-season infact.

The point remains - are you happy Benitez did not invest in players upfront this summer? We needed to replace Alonso which Aquilani is here to do, we also needed to replace Arbeloa, however Benitez spent up his budget in doing this, he could have quite feasibly have purchased an experienced player here and used Kelly as competition to push for places, then invested the rest in a forward thinking player, no?

You getting all angry and frustrated is understandble, i'm frustrated... however rather than ranting all over the shop, i'm looking to analyse why we are not performing at the moment, and the changes during the summer clearly are not taking us forward. Or would you disagree?

If you don't think that Voronin, Babel and co are of the required standard, then you agree with me, we should have addressed this in the summer, again, no?

When you're taking Benayoun off for Voronin you know the manager hasn't got the tools, however this IS his team and has to now surely take the flack for the squad he has created.

No doubt hes got a hard job with these currently pair of clowns running the clubs, however to suggest he has a halo hanging over him and he can do no wrong for me is bullshit, or again would you disagree?

Yup, big time opportunity missed. Our next 2 games are away (Kyiv & Barca) and now we will be fighting for survival, hoping to reach the last game with a chance to qualify.

Credit to Kyiv, they matched us tonight. It wasnt as much as Inter not playing well, as it was about Kyiv playing brilliantly. Lucio & Sneijder looked off colour, but the rest of the players did they job reasonably well.

That own goal and the Suazo miss near the end may come back to haunt us. We are unbeaten and bottom of the group. Fucking hell!

From the highlights it looks like Sneijder is continuing to out-Lampard Lampard. He shoots any chance he gets, even when he has no angle or has a wall of players right in front of him. If only he paused and looked up from time to time No

I must admit, I am a bit confused... football is sometimes a great leveler... I was so sure that whatever happens, the midfield we put in tonight would dominate Kyiv's midfield. And that didn't happen. Kyiv matched our midfield. Sure, Sneijder and Muntari had an off night, but still surely we should ve been able to control the midfield???

Sometimes in football, its difficult to understand what went wrong... the only way i can explain it is that Kyiv played out of their skins tonight... they were awesome, we were usual, and it was evenly matched. I have no other explaination for it.

Lets say that 4321 is our plan B from now on, and lets go back to the 4312.

Well eatern european football is on the rise. Yugoslavia and co always had big talents and now that russia and ukraine have the money, their teams are no muggs.
Rubin and Kiev played great against Inter, Donetzk Zenit and ZSKA ruled the uefa cup. Lets see if they can reach a higher stage.

AZ turned the screw on in the last 15 minutes but we didn't respond. AW must be furious and it's probably not a bad thing for the team to have a few rockets up their collective backsides for a reality check. Vela should have had a pen in the last minutes though.

Disappointing performance but that was a game we should have won on 3rd gear(i think our players thought so too).

Typical of Arsenal to concede in the manner we did with almost the last kick of the game. Lack of concentration!

I know it sounds a bit cheesy after the event, but I knew this was going to happen to Barcelona when I saw the players in the tunnel. The Barca players looked too relaxed and specifically Pique.
You cannot go into a game with this mentality, at ANY level, let alone against a strong underdog, like Rubin Kazan.
