No chance will the midfield be Gerrard and Milner..

I also doubt the Netherlands will play 5 forwards.

Cassano up front alone for Italy?

Pretty bad article, even for Goal.com

One of Montolivo or Aquilani will be in the midfield. Gilardino will still lead the line.

Gary Cahill hasn't got the quality to be a regular for England. As stated previously, there's no chance of Milner and Gerrard both starting in the middle. This is only two years away for fucks sake.

    My prediction would be:

    -----------------Hart----------------

    Johnson-Ferdinand--Terry--Cole

    Lennon--Barry--Lampard--Milner

    -----------C. Cole--Rooney--------

Get ready for some tasty face-munching in the next few years then. Not sure about Cahill, but Milner is v likely to be successor when Gerrard/Lampard finish (particularly if Capello's around, as he loves him). And A.Johnson has plenty of potential.

Well the hope is that more players will come through and replace Gerrard and Lampard. Ofcourse if the country goes backward these players may become England regulars.

Burying you head in the sand about Milner still hey Kimbo?

Players like Noble, Wilshere, Rodwell and Delph may well fill in in the longer term.

there haven't really been any huge talents to have emerged in the last 2/3 years though.

Milner's come on well in the last 18 months. But he still hasnt got that top quality to be an England regular yet at all. Against Spurs some of his passes were so dreadful it was ridiculous.

    that's in his favour though

it's funny how far down Ashley Young has slipped in people's estimations, suddenly everyone wants to get aboard the Adam Johnson bandwagon

Of the current England bunch surely only James, Beckham and Heskey can be ruled out of 2012. King, Hargreaves and Woodcock perhaps. Gibbs, Richards, Smalling, Delph, Johnson, Catterpole, Wallchart, Wilshere and co are only going to get better.

Would you honestly rule Beckham out of 2012? I fucking wouldn't, the guy semi-retired and still didn't disappear.

I forgot about him, he can be the long term replacement for Pirlo, but i think he will have to compete with the 2 guys. Could do with some European football exposure too.

I wouldn't put Nasri in the French team, even now he is not even near joiing team and he's kind of shit. Ben Arfa would be a better option, and he's playing very well right now.

To be fair, he was Villa's best player against us. Unfortunately he had no one to pass to because most of his team mates were behind him, given MON's tactics.

What makes me laugh is Ozil has admitted numerous times to paying little attention to the EPL, so how on earth he expects to make a sound jodgement on players he has rarely seen is beyond me.

The only fact that matters is Rooney will still only be 26 at the 2012 World Cup. As long as the other 10 are capable of passing to Rooney, we'll be okay Wink

    ok

    World Domination cheers

There might be alot of competition for the Brazilian NT, but I don't think Douglas will change nationalities. He is already being monitored by top clubs in Europe, and I don't think he will stick around long enough for any of that. Perhaps its time to give Vlaar a chance as well--who has been brilliant this season and if he progresses that could be a realistic option. Urby is horrible left full back. He doesn't actually know how to defend, so I would feel more comfortable trying out players like Nicky Kuiper or Erik Pieters (Braafheid?). All have more natural capabilities defending than Urby.

Unlesss, van der Vaart switches sides and becomes a regular-I wouldn't want him to play a dominant role for the national team either. I would play Sneijder there. Afellay needs to leave Holland and prove that he can make it at a bigger side in Europe. I think he lacks maturity and the mental capabiltiies to really be great, but that could be my blind hatred for the kid.

But I like the rest....nice line up. Well done! Very Happy
