Brazilian Football Census 2010, January Empty Brazilian Football Census 2010, January

Post by mongrel hawk Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:33 pm

source: 16 years or more, male and female, more than 11,000 interviwed in the whole country.

for 64% Dunga is doing a good job.

73% think Brazil will win the next WC.

36% are very interested in the WC; 31% are interested; 9% have a small interest; 18% don't give a damn (the rest didn't know what to say).

Ronaldinho and Ronaldo are the players that are not being called most wanted by Brazilians in the WC, 14% each.

    fanbases:

    don't give a damn: 23% (46 million people)
    flamengo 19% (38 m)
    corinthians 13% (26 m)
    são paulo 8% (16 m)
palmeiras 7% (do the maths considering a population of 200 million)
    vasco 5%
    cruzeiro 4%
    inter and grêmio: 3% each
    santos, atlético, botafogo: 2% each

unfortunately, some young people, especially posh kids who live locked watching cable TV, are beginning to support Euro clubs instead of Brazilian clubs. But thank God any foreign club is still very far from reaching 1%.

GODDAMN! less than 1% you think? I thought they had at least 7% considering they're Flamengo's bitterest rivals, and Maracaná looks to have a lot of Flu's fans when I see them play Flamengo.

Tevez was brilliant today, Lucio was fantastic against Chelsea and Juan made the Serie A team of the week last round.

no, the second fanbase in Rio is certainly Vasco's, and Vasco are Flamengo's bitterest rivals. But the Fla-Flu clássico is considered the most traditional, and was more mentioned in works of literature and films. Maybe because Fluminense's fanbase is made mostly of South Side fans in Rio, which are richer, therefore there are more of them in the media.

but they might have between 1 and 2%, not less than 1 as I had said.

    @black magic

nice to know. I love those 3 players. Ale

I hate him too. He is massively overrated here.

So far he played 10 matches against Corinthians, won nine of them and drew one. 28 points out of 30. Not that bad.

Back to the poll, we may have only 2%, but we always have one of the highest average attendances, if not the highest. That's much better than being like the bambis, I think...

    true.

I saw the other day a ranking of avarage attendance in the Brazilian League since the beginning. the first 2 were Flamengo and Atlético (I don't remember which was the first), followed by Bahia and then Corinthians.

Todo, with all due respect, that was brilliant and funny:

European mates, mark this name: Neymar

He is surely the best brazilian prospect in years. People compare him to Robinho, but the 17 year old kid has much more end product as you can see in the highlights.

    Highlights:
    Santos 2 x 1 Corinthians

Neymar is excelent and had a hell of a game, but that was silly.

Santos deserved the win. Corinthians played very well IMO, but Santos just played better. Nice to see they are peaking so early. It was just Corinthians 3rd game with full strenght. When we peak, things will happen.

Are there any clear favorites to win the Brasileirão 2010?
In Perú it's shaping up to be the one of the best seasons ever. I just saw Universitario-Sporting Cristal and it was a cracking match. Whoop

There are FIVE very good teams: Alianza Lima, Universitario, Sporting Cristal, San Martín, Aurich, AND there's a darkhorse coming out of nowhere in León (sort of Braga from Portugal, will they have enough 'til the end of the season though).

The shocking news is that Cienciano are really shite this year.
