WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK THAT YOU HAVE TO BE BLACK TO BE A TRUE DM!

Ok, just kidding. Maybe a year ago I would have agreed with you. I always thought that Mascherano did all defensive work for Liverpool and Alonso was just there to pull the strings but Alonso is hugely underrated in his defensive capacity. He has recovered more balls than anyone else in the league and his work rate is second to none and his positioning is superb.
