bayern was always dominated by german superstars, and we clearly lacked them the last decade in depth or quality, the future looks different

    -------------New Keeper------------

    Sagna--Djourou--Vermaelen--Clichy

    ----------Song----Ramsey-----------

    Walcott-------Nasri-------Arshavin

    ----------------RVP-----------------

With Wilshere possibly in either Nasri or Ramsey's spot.

Also, not sure if Arshavin will still be here and the development of Walcott may affect the right hand side.

There's also a possibility that Djourou won't be a starter and we'll have signed someone new.

As in its exactly the same minus Cesc? I'm making some assumptions that young players will continue to develop and that we'll sign a decent keeper in the summer (hopefully someone of the quality of Akinfeev/Lloris).

If I'd posted our current team three years ago as a 'team for 3 years time' you'd have probably said the same but players like Cesc, Song and Diaby have all made huge improvements in that time.

Here's my team. In ode of the Bayern - Man United game tonight, I'm going to adopt the German adage of taking the player's surname, halving it and adding an "i" at the end as a form of affection (Schumi, Poldi, Schweini etc)

Why does Dawson still have a bad reputation? His form has been brilliant this season. People go on like Richard Dunne has had a good season, but compared to Dawson he's been shit. In fact which CB's in the EPL have been better than Dawson this season? He's played in 24 games in which Spurs have conceded just 13 goals and he's regularly been named amongst the best players in MOTM polls etc? It's unfair that the guy is still being tarnished by his form from 2 years ago. He was good last season before his injury and has been excellent this season.

Dawson is a vessel for the demonstration of everything that is wrong with a PGT type English defender.

He actually can pass the ball relatively well but instead he chooses the lazy, easy, and usually destructive option of lobbing the ball up to the front man.

He's Europa quality at best, with extreme emphasis on the 'at best' part.

    Rubbish!

I won't listen to the opinion of a two bob rent boy and his geordie sidekick on this - between you I could probably count on one hand the number of Spurs games you two have seen from start to finish this season.

Dawsi is no nonsense for sure, but he was schooled at the Forest academy where they are taught to play good football. He is a very good distributor of the ball. He is no more to blame for humping the ball up to Peter Crouch as any of his team mates, including Bassong.

Get Crouch out of the team and the long balls disappear. Seen it many times this season when the gangly one has not started or gone off Ale

He wouldn't do that is he wasn't under instruction to play that ball when he gets the opportunity. Harry Redknapp isn't blind and just like anyone who watches Spurs play is aware that Dawson plays long cross field passes. The fact he still does them obviously means Harry is happy for him to do so, especially now we have Bale playing on the left. If Harry asked him to stop playing longs balls he'd do so. It's a simple thing to eliminiate from his game, but obviously the manager doesn't want him to and likes the idea of mixing up the teams passing instead of starting everything from the back.

It's a shame Spurs have stunted his progress. I'm not sure i would bother taking him back as i'm happy with our 4 CB's and want to see how they do in the premiership. It seems he is another player that has discovered the grass isn't always greener on the other side, perhaps he should meet up with Beye, Owen, Zog, and Shay, and they can all have a chat about it. <Ale>

Dawson has been better, but Bassong has still had a good season and improved alot as the season has gone on. We've got one of the best defensive records in the league and he has played his part in that. All of our defenders have played well this season.
