South American Dream Team Empty South American Dream Team

Post by waft the Wed Sep 20, 2006 3:02 am

Who would everyone have in a team made up of players based in S.A.

Just so we don't get teams comprised entirely of Boca or Sao Paolo players, max 3 players from one team.

    GK-
    RB-
    CB-
    CB-
    LB-
    RM-
    CM-
    CM-5. Gago
    LM-
    F-
    F-

Gago is the obvious first name on the teamsheet, who else?

    Firstly in goal, Bobadilla? Ceni?

    I'd include:

    LB: Júnior (São Paulo)

    midfield:

gago (boca), mineiro (são paulo), magrão (corinthians), Carlos Alberto (Corinthians)

    f's:

    Palacio (Boca), Fernandão (Internacional)

I'm not sure about right back and CBs. Rogério Ceni would not make the team. Bobadilla is not very good. in Brazil i'd choose Cruzeiro's Fábio for keeper.

Yeah, include Mexico, whats Guardado's best position? he should be there

Bobadilla was incredible for libertad in the libertadores last year.

I was thinking between Junior, Dominguez or Krupoviesa LB.

    Veron CM? Ramon Morales LM?

Good options up front Zarate and Pavone.

Yeah definately Bobadilla, he was amazing in Germany. Guardado's best position is winger ala´ Ashley Cole. Alothough he is very versatile, I'd like him to play some day midfield very much like Joe Cole. He'd really make some magic happen. If I find the goals he made in the Liguilla this year I'll show them to you...Simply amazing for a winger.

those are both in one game. Atlas 2-0 America

And Cuau well he is one of the best midfielders in Mexico , hell the world. He really is very good.

I'm gonna be a bit off the topic. After watching Sao vs Boca in the second leg of Recoba, i realised that both this teams can actually play Total Football with everybody playing in every position (interchangeably) during the match. I mean for the time being i thought Junior was a playmaker and Gago was playing behind the strikers.

I noticed that aswell. Gago and Minero(I think that's the players name) seemed to swap between the playmaker and "redondo" roles every few minutes. Seemlessly.

Is Bobadilla really better than Oswaldo Sanchez?

Edit: That Zinha bloke looked rather good aswell, or has he moved on?

Bobadilla though he was good at last Libertadores and at the WC had a nice performance hasn't been that good at Boxa for now. Of course he just arrived and he should be given some time. But if you wacth the first leg of the Boca-Sao Paulo you were talking about you will see. Two words Butter hands.

Ustari, Nilmar, Ernesto Sosa and Manuel Rodriguez are all players that have impressed me, when I've seen them.

Obviously Gago & Palacio, but people have already mentioned them. I see more of the Argentinian league, than the Brazilan one, as it seems to get more air time at the moment.

What about Kerlon? We hear a lot of him over here because of his links to Man Utd amongst others, but I've seen little to nothing of him.

    RB- Prado (Sporting Cristal)
CB- Rodriguez (Sporting Cristal), Da Silva (Toluca),
CB- Palacios (UNAM), Fabao (São Paulo),
    LB- Hidalgo (Internacional),

It's too tough to separate them Tweedledum! For instance, in Europe who would you pick between Eto'o, Sheva (playing for Milan), Ronaldo (motivated), Crespo (in Italia), Toni? It's something like that. It's too hard to separate them. Biggrin <Ale>

Lenilson is dreadful, plus he has one of the worst names ever.

I'd have Romario in any team, regardless of his age, but he last played in the U.S., I think he's retired now anyway.

Team so far; bit of contention for places ok

F- Marioni, is he really good enough? (flop in Spain)

He is brilliant, he plays for toluca...A midfield dinamo almost every goal Toluca scores comes from his foot and Toluca is the best team in the league. What the hell is he still doing here?

And I don't think Bobadilla is as good as Oswaldo Sanchez, but he is definately damn good.

    @ Puro

Tuta, Fabão, Lenílson, Rômulo....Best joke of the day. Mate, we are not obligated to know about every single player in the world. If you don´t know enough about someone, just don´t mention him. I´m sure that you don´t have a clue about the brazilian players you´ve mentioned.

    Bruno (Flamengo)

    Ibarra(Boca) Fabiano Eller(Inter) Cáceres(River) Júnior(SP)

    Mineiro(SP) Gago(Boca) Josué(SP)

    Gallardo(River)

    Palacio(Boca) Nilmar(Corinthians)

Mexico is not part of SA, otherwise Sanchez would be my gk.
