Milan. Inzaghi.
as offside I think..but still...terrible attempt at the save from Kodak. Twice in a matter of minutes from the Spanish Given.

Inzaghi offside? In other shocking news, Elton John is gay
Did he score from inside the 6 yard box and celebrate like he'd just won the world cup and the national lottery?

Not a good performance, but this was always likely to be our toughest game, and you can't change the defence and midfield so much and expect them to gel. I really wish Clichy would stop being so stupid though. We stay ahead of Shakhtar on head-to-head results, but Wenger needs to take our next away game in this competition a little more seriously; he can rest players in the home games. They've got a great home record, so this would have been difficult with our best team, never mind this one.

As Sheff said, it was always going to be a tough proposition taking a rather makeshift team to a Skakhter;s home ground where they have a formidable record. However we could've done a bit better in 1H during those 25 minutes that cost us the match and some like Nasri and to a lesser extent Wilshere rather faded away in 2H - fatigue or what I don't know. Not a disaster by any means but rather annoying, need to make this a wake up call for Newcastle match which won't be a stroll like the Carling Cup match.
Kudos to Eduardo for not celebrating his winning goal.

Well, rubbish defending and goalkeeping (yes, yes it was a kodak moment) on the first Milan goal but f*cking hell how do they not get the offside right on the second one???? It's f*cking Pippo Inzaghi not Walcott ffs. How the linesman was deceived on that I will never know. Still good mental fortitude by the players to come back. Reminds me of Capello's team...they just don't ever give up they don't ever stop believing that they can get something from a game. And fair play to Mourinho. As pragmatic as he is made out to be this is not the first time this year when we have been tied or trailing that he has hauled off a central defender and decided to go for it and it payed off again. Nicely taken goal from Leon, nice work from Benzema (two games in a row!!!!!) to make a difference when coming on as a sub.

Not a suprise to see us lose, I said it would happen. A stronger team would have achieved a draw at the very least but I concede that we had to do that due to the injuries.
It will be interesting to see how we react. The defeat shouldn't really have any repercussions but we were building up momentum before this defeat. Hopefully this doesn't halt the charge.

Howard Webb and his team of monkeys nearly did it again All Ibrahimovic gets for 3 fouls from behind, even one against Ramos in which he just stamped his ankles is one yellow card Then that lucky talentless waste of space Inzagui is offside by at least 2 meters while moving in slow motion and everybody misses it That is of of course, shortly after hitting Alonso from behind while he was trying to take a free kick (not even a yellow card for that)
Milan are are the embodiment of the word "mediocre", but once again they got incredibly lucky against us. Should have been 10-2 in aggregate scores but oh well...
And yes, Ibra choked again

That's neither here or there, we could have won and pretty much assured qualification with a win there tonight. I acknowledge it would have been hard regardless of what team we had there so i'm not too downbeat with the defeat. Just have to hope these injuries we have are not serious.
Shame Frimpong isn't fit, he really is a lot better than Eastmond who doesn't have much going for him.
Clichy continuing to make mistakes and Gibbs constantly getting injured... hmmmm

I love it when people hate on Inzaghi
I mean here's an old skinny ass guy, with no athleticism or technique who's scored 70 goals in European competitions and has done it at the grandest of stages.
Yep, it's clearly all down to luck.

yes madrid fans can bitch and moan as they please, but inzaghi is the king, you cannot contain him, and if you want to talk about cheating look at ur own team, how many dives resulted in cards against our players? gattuso and boateng got yellows for no contact tackles on marcelo and di maria, all i remember was madrid wankers moaning on the ground it is disgusting, and that bitch ronaldo, i pray he gets a career ending injury fucking filthy rat!

My thought is that Benitez does not know what to do with his full backs, he has two of the best Maicon and Chivu but they are being drawn out to far to the wings on defense and on offense they are doing little going forward.
The problem here is clearly with Benitez, he is asking the defence to play too high up but his defenders lack the pace to cover the distance between them and the keeper since all of them are 30 years and above.
Also lets not forget that defence starts from attack, so if you have the likes of Biabiany, Obi (first time he plays in CL) playing in key positions then you will definetly concede goals, Inter did not play with any natural defensive midfielder since Zanetti is a full back by nature.

I don't remember the incident with Di Maria but Marcelo had to dive out of the way otherwise the thug Gattuso would have broken his ankles.

I can understand AS and Marca continuing the anti-Webb agenda (everyone in Spain still remembers the World Cup final), but to try and claim Abate should have got a red for that incident with Ronaldo, in which the latter produced a Busquets-esque performance with his over-reaction, is just disgusting. Webb should have given Ronaldo a yellow for that.

Milan fans complaining about Madrid diving when their team spends the entire game refusing to play football and attempting to break ankles...
-Ibracunt commits 3 fouls from behind (one straight into Ramos ankles with no intention of playing the ball) and only one yellow
-Abate spends the entire game committing fouls in dangerous positions and in one case kicks Ronaldo from behind - only gets a yellow (agreed that when he hit Ronaldo in the mouth the latter made a meal of it, though some would still consider that an aggression)
-Inzagui clatters into Xabi Alonso from behind as the latter has just taken a free kick which could easily be a red - not even a yellow
-Gattuso of course spends half the game doing two-footed lunges and launching himself in any area where the ball appears to be and little happens to him. Funny that the Marcelo challenge is called on Marcelo as a diver - they guy had to get out of the way as the Rhino's two footed lunge would have crushed him otherwise.
Then there's the offside goal of course, which is one of the clearest offsides in the history of football from the man who was born offside
It was another comedy show by Webb who obviously must have gotten herpes from a Spanish prostitute or something. That bald piece of shit should get shot in the knees.
Also, I was surprised to see how Milan wasn't even going for the game when they were a goal down. They just sat back and waited for counter attacks while playing at walking pace. It looked quite sad for Milan to do this in their own stadium but another amazing performance by Webb's team and some idiotic mistakes by our defense nearly made it work.
