    Id play like this

    ---------Edwin----------
    ---Neville Rio Heinze--

    ----Senna----Carrick--

    Ronaldo---------- Evra

    ---Rooney--Tevez----
    ----------Toni---------

Evra drops back to make a 4 at the back when defending

I like that line-up. But to complete it, and for it to work IMHO, I'd go with this.

    - - - - - - - - - Van Der Saar
    Neville - Ferdinand - Heinze - Evra
    - - - - - - Senna - Carrick
    Ronaldo - - - Rooney - - - Tevez
    - - - - - - - - - Saha

Then, when utd have the ball, it'd be more like the following...

    - - - - - - - - - Van Der Saar
    - - - Neville - Ferdinand - Heinze
    - - - - - - Senna - Carrick
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Evra
    Ronaldo - - - Rooney - Tevez
    - - - - - - - Saha

Something along those lines; slightly imbalanced, but when you have the ball that wouldn't matter, given that with Neville and Heinze in particular you have 2 fullbacks who can play as centrebacks, and in Evra, you have a very attacking fullback.

I'm modeling it, slightly, on the system that Argies used at the World Cup.

Yeah, thats what Pouiy has been banging on about, using Evra to give more width. He's looked good in pre-season, however he may take a while to dislodge Heinze or Brown (if Heinze's takes his spot). Not overally liked by the fans so far (more Fergie's fault for playing him in the derby where he was wank Rolling Eyes).

I still think Scholes will start alot of games(Fergie's words, not mine), so it could be a case of 2 from Senna, Scholes and Carrick or Saha's place and then let Rooney, Ronaldo and someone like Tevez off the leash.

I forgot about Brown; he could in play Neville's role in that system better than Neville. Obviously the Tache won't be dropped though, with him being captain.

It does compare to Argentina's system though.

    Brown - Burdisso
    Rio - Ayala
    Heinze - Heinze
    Evra - Sorin

    Senna - Mascherano
    Carrick - Cambiasso
    Ronaldo - Maxi Rodriguez
    Rooney - Riquelme/Saviola
    Tevez - Riquelme/Saviola

    Saha - Crespo

you're putting an awful lot of emphasis on Saha with that style - it would look good and certainly suits SAF's gung ho style, but if and when Saha gets injured after 7 games you've got problems.

Thats why if we started like that and Saha got injured, one of Rooney or Tevez could take his place and then Park or Giggs could go onto the wing.

we both know Rooney can't play as a lone striker - not yet anyway.

not sure about Tevez, but I've a feeling the same applies - Obispo?

Pretty much. It could be seen in the world cup against Holland that he needs someone ahead of him, if just to occupy the opposition strikers.

I still think Tevez will end up in Spain when he does go, it's just a question of where. If he goes this season I think Sevilla will sign him.

Don't let the World cup showing cloud your judgement. He's done it great for us before. He just needs more support around him for it to work, something he didn't get for England. He also wasn't 100 % fit either.

Very good. If Rooney, Scholes didn't get sent off (Rooney wrongly, Scholes rightly) and Carrick didn't pick up the injury it would of been great.

Thought against Ajax the kids did excellent. Evans was amazing, considering he only flew out that day. Fletcher was immense and Rossi and Giggs created loads of problems.

    Even Miller played well!!!!

Rooney looks to pass or shoot from distance whereas Tevez is more likely to go on a weaving run. They couldn't play together though. No way.

People thought that Riquelme would get in the way of Rooney's "natural game", well Tevez will certainly do that, aswell as offer no movement ahead of Rooney for him to pass to.

Rooney needs a player who'll run off the shoulder of defenders like Saha, Owen etc someone of that ilk.
    .......Gave me an Idea
Tevez would work well in the Man U side...............With a retiring Scholes in the coming years Rooney could fit in the middle and would understand a Tevas like player better than most......Rooney still needs to show more and in an offensive middle formation could be awesome..

    Yeah thats what Parky thinks

I think that Rooney may go the other way and develop into a player that can lead the line, he has the talent to do both

If Rooney was told to he could play with Tevez he would just have to be disciplined with ropes and whips

442 for the small teams with Scholes and Carrick

442 the argentine way prehaps although i doubt Fergie will try it

Against the big teams it will be 433/451 i'm 100% sure with Carrick Scholes Senna

Then Rooney on the left Ronaldo on the right and prehaps Evra at left wing back

    Neville----- Ferdinand----Brown----Evra---

    ------------Senna--------Carrick-------------

    -------------------Rooney---------------------

    Ronaldo-----------Saha-------------Tevez---

Let Rooney tear up the middle in front of Senna and Carrick go for the gusto from the middle...........He will drag more players to him than anyone else leaving Carrick more space to needle a through ball to Ronaldo/Saha/ and Tevez.......Use Rooney for what he is best at... he causes lots of trouble and the middle would be a disaster for teams like Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. Even Essien would have a hard time with him.. Then breaking forward from midfield Rooney could offer much to the team than playing as a target man or player in the hole. Very Happy

Leaving out Heinze will cause some fans to explode there brian.

i prefer to keep it simple. 4-4-2 with rooney where he likes to be upfront, dropping deep when he likes.
vidic over brown for me, heinze over evra.

because most fans don't understand tactics

Evra offers a lot going foward he would provide width for Rooney or Tevez to cut inside that Heinze cannot

Manchester United are planning to arrange a co-operation deal with Danish side Brondby.

The Premiership giants already have similar links in place with clubs around the globe, with the most prominent being with Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

But it appears Brondby could become a leading feeder club for United after Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the proposal.

"We have clear plans to enter into a formal agreement with Brondby," Ferguson told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet.

"The club is doing a fantastic job in developing young talent and I'm sure that a permanent arrangement will be something that both clubs will benefit from."

Brondby recently appointed Rene Meulensteen as their new coach, with the Dutchman having been The Red Devils' reserve team boss.

Former United youngster Mark Howard has also signed for the club and Ferguson confirmed he keeps in contact with Meulensteen.

He added: "Of course I follow what is happening in Denmark when Rene works there.

"He is a fantastic coach who I had many good years with in Manchester."

Brondby director Anders Bjerregaard has revealed he is looking forward to the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a partnership with United.

Bjerregaard said: "A conversation with Manchester United will be very interesting. We must, of course, hear what they have to say.

"But in the long run, I am sure that an agreement will be of great benefit to both partners.

"We can easily see ourselves taking the initiative and putting this enquiry to Manchester United to get a formalised agreement in place."
