    I'll start.

Rank the teams from 1-20 in the order you expect them to finish
    Manchester City
    Manchester United
    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Liverpool
    Spurs
    Stoke
    Everton
    West Brom
    Aston Villa
    Sunderland
    Fulham
    Wolves
    Bolton
    Newcastle
    Blackburn
    Norwich
    Wigan
    Swansea
    QPR

(as a side note, it's quite clear that the Big 4 has now become a Big 6, with a *huge* drop in quality from 7th onwards. You could interchange the positions of pretty much all the teams from 7th down to 18th, and it wouldn't be a major surprise).

    Top scorer
    Darren Bent

    Most assists
Modric if he goes to Chelsea. Charlie Adam if he starts regularly. Otherwise, Ashley Young.

Team that will score the most goals
    Man. United

Team that will concede the least goals
    Man. City

    First manager to be sacked
    Kean (Blackburn)

Who will prove to be the best signing? (of the ones made so far)
    Aguero

Who will prove to be the worst signing? (of the ones made so far)
    Jordan Henderson

Modric? If he plays in the same role as he does with Spurs, he won't get near most assists... he's more often the pass BEFORE the pass that directly leads to the goal, much like Xavi.

I'm assuming he'll play in Lampard's role as the furthest-forward midfielder. And if he settles, he'll be the answer to the Torres problem. Torres thrives on through balls that give him space to run behind and use his pace (even though it's less now). Modric is great at that.

I think Fergie will go for Smalling and Vidic for most of the season at centre back but yeah if he plays DM than maybe he will play a lot.

Yeah can see Smalling and Vidic being the partnership if Rio is fucked most of the time.

I think Smalling might end up playing right back quite a lot too mind you..given that Rafael and Fabio are injured every other week.

Why do people think Bent will be top scorer without the service of Young and Downing this season? I know they've just bought the Zog but I think Bent will find it a bit more difficult this time. Not doubting he'll score plenty of goals because he'll take pens as well but I'd be surprised if he scored as many as last season.

I can't believe people think Aguero will be top scorer without ever having played a single premiership match. Even in Spain he was only averaging about 15 goals per season.

Even with limited service (see: Sunderland) Bent is generally a consistent scorer, so it's a safe-ish bet that he'll be around the top scorers again this year.

It's quite hard to call as nearly all the big guns from recent years have question marks:
-Rooney & Torres, will they be back on form?
    -Drogba, will he play enough?
-Berbatov, will he play at all?
-Van Persie, will he stay fit?
    -Tevez, will he stay?

I went Hernandez but there's no guarantee he'll play every week either.

More importantly, why are so many doughnuts predicting Liverpool to finish above both Arsenal and Spurs? Jaime's got the right idea.

I'm going predict right now that Liverpool will not finish above either.

It's not that they're a bad team at all, it's simply that their squad is anywhere near settled yet - currently so many players who you're not even sure how they're going to fit into the team. Arsenal and Spurs both have their flaws, but I see them being much fluid as a team from the off.

Also, QPR will stay up. You heard it here first

because they have momentum in their squad improvements while Arsenal and Spuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurs have stalled. For all the potential flaws in signing overpriced Brits, it will do them far more good than being linked with cheaper, better players who end up elsewhere. Arsenal and Spuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurs both look set to lose their best players while Liverpool lose Paul Konchesky and Milan Jovanovic.

Liverpool might not finish above either, and I don't think this thread will influence the outcome.

Darren Bent tends to score a goal every 2 starts wherever he plays so it's a safe if unspectacular bet that he'll be in contention.

Indeed, Rooney was terrible last season. I believe he's scored more than RVP in about 6 of the last 7 season however.

I decided (unlike you it seems) to go for current form with my pick.

Can I end this with that comment please ?

    @Noah

If you look, I've predicted us to come 5th. As I said, it's a toss up between us and Arsenal for 4th IMO unless Spurs both keep Modric and sign a brilliant striker or two, then they might be in the mix. 'Arry's already made one error in signing Friedel who is now past it and not much better than Gomes. IMO, you and Arsenal will concede a lot of silly goals with clowns in goal.

Arsenal right now still have Fabregas and Nasri so they should finish ahead of us but if they lost one or both they'd be seriously weakened and they still have the problem that their defence is laughable. The next 3 weeks will be the decider on whether Arsenal or Liverpool finish in that 4th spot IMO.

The predictions are just gut instincts, conjecture and a bit of fun.
