    Shakhtar hit the post

Vucinic should have scored but went too wide round the goalie and made a mess of it

Hardly any shocking names in that list. Shows again that the groupstages should be scrapped for knock-out stages.

Only Celtic and Galatasaray you'd fancy facing really. Should hopefully be some good knock out games. Fully expect United to get Celtic.

Don't see what the problem is really. The last 16 all look relatively strong compared to some dross sides that have made it there in the past. City had a tough group, Arsenal made theirs look difficult. The seeding only benefitted United.

Aye. You usually get to the quarters though then implode. It's always fun to watch Arsenal fans believe they're In for 3 trophies then get knocked out of contention in all 3 within 2 weeks and some heavy losses <Ale>

Messi went out injured really bad, a broken foot it seems. Cant believe they decided to play him.

Great news for Bayern and Madrid nontheless. And Muellers record.

Cried like a little f*cking girl for it just being a bruise. It's not that serious, he'll probably even play on Sunday against Betis. But if it were it would have been his own fault for asking to play just so he could break the record.

Super performance from Juve to qualify & win a group that had quality opposition like Shakhtar & Chelsea! Vidal & Lichtsteiner were brilliant in their performances but Chiellini was outstanding! He is probably one of the most underrated defenders at the moment.

Then it is the people who overhyped him that are at fault. I am certain that he never went about proclaiming that he is the new Nesta. By the way Chiellini & Nesta are very different in their style but that does not take away from the fact that he is brilliant defender.

Chielleini started of well which raised expectations. But I don't think he was overhyped. It was merely the case that his level dropped for whatever reason and he looked lost. For those who weren't following the previous reputation sticked for a while so it has more to do with the ignorance of those who didn't watch Juventus and Chiellini than with any overhyping. I saw a game from recently(can't remember) where he was magnificent and I'm happy that he seems to be back on the track before his slump. In a sense he is like De Rossi who went through something similar.

Arbroath managed to get a draw at Celtic Park last week, so nobody in the CL should be scared of it.
